i agree with you but ive seen strange things happen over the years in the football world, so ill say watch this space cause you would be amazed lol. Manchester United are only the powerhouse that they are because 99% of their support dont live anywhere near Manchester, so the size of an area or status that area holds is not necessarily a factor.

Indeed, but Blackburn was the first major example where a chairman spent, spent, spent to "ensure" success. Christ, they spent a hell of a lot buying Duncan Shearer from Swindon, played him a whopping 6 matches, purely to prevent rivals Swindon from promoting into the Prem.

They were certainly the first cyncial example of what Chelsea, Man City are doing.
