[/quote]OTPE no offence but that may be because you no longer live here. Personally, I work with them day in day out and to hear their bragging and boasting in that daft accent of theirs of how the saw Rooney this week, Torres the next etc would break me. A lot of people I went to school with are already starting to turn toward the shite, it seems like more and more every day. My brothers in Sixth form and says he's in a minority of County fans, everyone supports Cardiff. How them getting promotion could be beneficial to us is ludicrous IMO. The younger generation of fans that we will need LONG TERM will take the easy option and go 12 miles down the road to watch Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal et al for £15-20 more than what we charge for Telford, Barrow & Forest Green FACT. It's getting to the point now where they're everywhere I go. Down my local for example on Saturday, a group of the w@nkers came back from Burnley dressed as Smurfs in their Cardiff tops and had the cheek to stop off for a beer and asked me "How did you get on today mate" felt like strangling the cheeky little fuckwits, it got a bit heated when I lectured them about supporting their local team as wellit's winding me up just thinking about it

Newport and Cardiff borders are separated by 5 miles yet people think it is the same as supporting a team 200 miles and three hours away.
I started supporting City in the early 90's after going with a few work mates and a bunch of the lads from Ferndale.
You could hardly be classed as a glory hunter then and it is only becoming an issue now that we are getting more exposure.
There have been lads from Newport and Cwmbran supporting City for donkeys years.

County fans seem to see themselves as big cats now but really shouldn't, there still in the Senior Gwent Cup playing against local Cwmbran team and Croesyceiliog with the majority of their first team players!!! Jokers

I appreciate that mate.
I still see where he is coming from though, even if he is a knob.
All youngsters from Newport who now support Cardiff are Glory Hunting, except if their Dads or whatever support Cardiff and they support Cardiff through that.
Theres no other possible reason for them to support us other than through following the team at the top.
Who would you say is the worst out of this lot?
Cardiff fans from North Wales.
Villa Fans from Walsall.
Swansea/Cardiff fans from Merthyr.
Leeds fans from Doncaster.
Man City fans from Rochdale.
Cardiff fans from Newport.
Chelsea fans from Reading.
West Ham fans from Leytonstone.
Everton fans from North Wales.
Cardiff fans from Neath.
Personaly, I dont see any difference in any of them apart from the fact Cardiff fans from North Wales stands out cos of the distance.
Now if we passed a coach with a flag in the back saying Leytonstone Hammers, Walsall Villa, MCFC Rochdale branch they would get a loads of abuse for not supporting the local side, yet, Newport Bluebirds, Neath/Portalbot Blues, Hollyhead Blues etc etc etc are ok like.
As I said, I like the fact our fans come from all over the shop and all the flags with different place names but you must see where im coming from.
It would be interesting to get a perspective from a Merthyr Fan, now if all the Football Fans from Merthyr and the surrounding areas supported Merthyr when they were only 1 division below Cardiff who knows where they would be now. But they didnt, they support Cardiff/Swansea and Premiership sides but some people say its ok because they follow a Welsh Club.
Its a bit hypocritical realy isnt it?
