When i heared they were bringing out a book i thought they were cashing in but all the money going into their private investigation thing so fair play to them it will sell well too but the sad reality is that theyll probably never find her and even if a miracle happened and they did he wouldnt be the same kid and would have some serious mental issuesn imo it quite sad to think

No sympathy for them (the parents), but feel terrible for Madeline.

Why would you leave your children alone in an apartment in a foreign country while you went to get pissed? A disaster waiting to happen. It's against the law in this country, so why do it in another!!

Exactly, this is what I find suspicious too.

In my opinion and I'll reiterate that its an opinion, I think she accidentally overdosed her on drugs and then when she went back to the apartment Madeline was unconscious. I then reckon they panicked and then hid the body. Now its gone on far too long for them to come clean because they've tried to cover it up so now got to live a lie.

Disclaimer: This is an opinion, not a fact. Before some idiot goes on Twitter spouting this and I get sued for the £12 I have in my bank account.

Well no but that has been reported and we know she left them alone...wasnt she a chemist as well hhmmm
Either way if they ever do find Madeleine body I hope the parents are arrested for manslaughter.
Most parents wont let there children play out side alone at that age and rightly so, nevermind take them to a foreign country and leave them alone in a room, it beggers belief and goes way further than making a mistake.

Obviously it’s a tragic situation for any parent but I have my concerns about the McCann’s. Maybe I am being harsh on them but I would never leave a child unattended in a foreign country and many questions still remain to be answered by them.

I felt annoyed having read that plea they made in the Sun unless Im missing something THEY LEFT THEM UNATTENDED,

Re: The McCanns

I have my doubts also with them. It is terrible for the family & the poor little girl, but you dont leave your children alone in their bedroom in a foreign country even if you are only a few metres away from the room having a drink.

In hindsight they would obviously not have done this but like someone else said if this was a family off a council estate the media would have tortured them & they would have been public enemy number 1 and would probably have had the other 2 taken off them!!

But you have to feel for the family and the little girl!!

Well said-if they lived on a council estate their other kids would have been taken off them. The fact that they are doctors means they are seen as better people in the eyes of the media.

Re: The McCanns

The hypocrisy of the McCann’s really is amazing. Wasn't it only a couple of years ago that the McCann’s were blaming the media for using Maddie as a commodity

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7935156.stm

Yet here they are now serialising a book within a tabloid and then demanding a new inquiry to, would you believe it, coincide with the release of said book. Almost as if they were using the renewed interest in the case to help with sales of the book. Almost as if they were using it as a commodity.

I remember seeing Gerry being interviewed on Newsnight at the time and seeing his disgruntlement with the media and him asking for the media to be more responsible and accountable. Maybe the same should be applied to Mr & Mrs McCann.

More responsible in their attitude to parenting and more accountable for the failings in their care. I believe leaving your children unattended is illegal in both the UK and Portugal. Maybe accountability should be applied to them in respect of this. Maybe the new inquiry should investigate their failings rather than trying to imply that somehow the British and Portuguese govt failed them.

For all of the exposure that they milked from the press, to then turn on them as they did was so illustrative of their character. They risked the safety of their children for the sake of a glass of wine and a bowl of tapas, then courted the press in a media explosion to mask their parental failings and then berated them because they stopped playing their game.

Seemingly the McCann’s are now back thinking they can have their cake and eat it. Slag off the media at one point and then court it at another. We shouldn't be surprised though for they seem to have the same attitude to parenting. They wanted children but they didn't want to be inconvenienced by them.

I feel for the child in this (and the other two that still remain) but serious questions need to be asked of them before the finger is pointed at anyone else.

I hope Madeline gets found

I've got no symphay for the parents as I thought they were the biggest selfish pair of wankers, you should never leave kids in the house on own let alone abroad-if that was a working class family they'de be hung already.

It wouldn't suprise me if a childless person kidnapped her.

Re: The McCanns

My opinion is that no parent esp ones with the intelligence of the mccanns would never leave your flesh and blood on their own and go for a meal and few drinks , it does not add up at all. One day all will be revealed , found Sadam , found in Laden , something will turn up soon . The neighbour was allegedly suspicious as well. Too many things dont add up but it doees not look good , parents appear to be no1 suspects but nothing proven obviously - sad very sad
