" FAILURE: Would It Be A Disaster? "

Wed May 11, 2011 3:57 pm

With Friday approaching, I've been pondering a few things

Would it be the end of the world for our club if were to fail in the play offs? Will we implode or spring right back.

Do you think it would be the break up of a very talented squad and manager, and cause severe damage to our club? Or do you think fresh impetus and new players would would be far more beneficial to us in the long run?

Do you think the club is ready for the Premiership, either on the pitch, off the pitch, or both? Are the issues off the field that need to be addressed, or are we well equipped in any situation.

One thing for sure, it would be a massive shame that some of our greats like Kev and Bellamy would have to endure the heartbreak. Hopefully it won't happen.

It will be a massive dissaster mate, it will be the 3rd season in a row that we would have missed the chance.

Even worse considering the squad we have and the lack of a stand out team in the division, I wouldnt class QPR as stand out myself.

Add to that the 3 teams that came down were pretty poor.

But dont worry, its gunna happy,

ITS OUR YEAR

If they were very talented Players and Manager Sheriff then we wouldn't still be in the Championship :ayatollah:

i obviously want us to go up but staying down and getting rid of all the shit wouldnt be so bad i dont think theres loads leaving on frees and all the loans going back we have to realisticly start again anyway.
although if we do go up the malasians might spent a bit to try and keep us up so ive got mixed views on this

i think the club is ready for the premiership but a lot of things have to change, some people argue that the management needs changing but we will have to bring around 5 players in at least, if i'm being totally honest. the stadium and facilities are pretty good and could be classed as premiership standard with little bits needing improving.
i really think cardiff city is a club that will change the premier league and have a great effect on it.
off the pitch we aren't far off from being ready but some things do have to change, i feel some of the things that will need changing will happen once we have gained promotion and can not be changed at this moment in time.

Shortest sticky ever!

I was going to detail my opinion on it, but I'd better not

No fella
I'll tell you what would be a disaster....if we were preston or sheff utd and going down.......if we were sheff wed and already a division down.......if we were plymouth and facing next season in shitters ditch where we spent so much of the last 40 years.........if we were lincoln and even further in the shit.......or wrexham, luton, halifax, or god forbid chester.Look where we were 17 years ago and thank your lucky stars we are now an established championship club which is, in effect ,the old first division.Yes we all want a shot at the promised land and the money and status that goes with it.........but its not the be and end all. But keep the faith we are still in with an even chance and we have Bellars which may be the difference. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I am torn on it.

On the one side, we have a squad that talent wise is the best ever (although it hasn't always shown). We have what appear to be solid businessmen in charge. We certainly have much of the infastructure needed to be a solid Premiership club, such as stadium, fanbase etc. And we are certainly in a good position to go up. If we win, then happy days.

On the flip side, some could argue a few aspects of the club need to be much better so that, when we do go up, we stay there. Whether that be the lack of a 'FOOTBALL MAN' in the ownership of the club. Or certain employees of the club getting praise for promotion and the infastructure of the club, when their contribution could be very little, if not a negative one. And of course there's the question of the manager and some players, although that can be altered either way.

All the points in my 2nd paragraph could feasibly be improved in the even that we do not go up; of course I do want to go up this season, but I don't think it is the end of the world - provided these 'problems' could be remedied.

My fear is that they cannot or will not be remedied if we get promoted this season - hopefully we still go up though :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Don't worry Adam, as soon as we start getting thrashed by PL teams everyone will be calling for the manager's head
