Cant agree with that sorry fella although I respect your opinion
I appreciate that you dont need to run about like a headless chicken to make a contribution but you need to make
some effort. Whitts is a good player, of that there is no doubt, but I'm afraid his good performances are few and far between.
He will come up with a wonder strike every now and again, but his work rate is shocking, he never gets a foot in and doesnt track back, he is the first to go missing when the heat is on and cant defend for shit. He cant run with the ball, is lacking in pace and cant take anyone on either.
He gets carried through games based on the fact that every half a dozen games or so he will do something amazing but the rest of the time he is non existent.

WHAT!
He's only scored 33 goals in the last two League seasons. Last season he played exclusively on the left wing and this season as the anchor man in midfield.

For QPR's second goal in the 2-2 draw he just kept dropping back and back watching the QPR player coming forward from the half way line which led to their goal.
I will not dispute that every now and again he will come up with a super strike or a lovely ball but they just done happen enough for my liking. The fella is a serious lightweight and is captain of the bottling culture that seems to be in our team.
Come on Peter, take us to Wembley and score a winning free kick my friend and shut me up![]()

Good to make contact. It's great to have a good old banter, isn't it?
He's actualy scored 36 goals in the last 2 seasons, 25 last year and 11 this year of which last season 8 were penalties.
Yes, ta for pointing that out but I only included FL Championship games in my totals.
Prior to last season I dont see how anyone can argue that PW was pretty much rubbish for us ... Whitts cant run with the ball, hasnt got pace and cant take people on ...
Prior to last season 'Dick' was always the scapegoat, the one to be dropped, and was consequently never given a run in the side. It was only due to Etuhu's injury problems that DJ had no alternative and had to play him for the season on the left. And look what he did. For a player with so many limitations 25 goals in a season seems pretty good to me.
People are constantly moaning that Bothroyd is always out on the wing picking up the ball and running at players instead of being in the box, well this is because Whitts cant run with the ball, hasnt got pace and cant take people on, therefore Bothroyd is coming over to the flanks to do the wingers job! Secondly, if you put him in the centre he makes us lightweight because again, he's second to the ball and doesnt get stuck in.
This season Whitts has rarely played on the left and even fewer times on the right. He has almost exclusively been crassly and stupidly used as the anchor man (yes ... ANCHOR MAN) in midfield. I've ranted and raved about this so often this season, but here goes one last time. In DJ's opinion (how?) he plays the ball winning anchor man, Olofinjana, behind the strikers whilst the gifted, creative Whitts an arm's length from the two centre-halves. What logic there is in this completely baffles me. On Saturday at Burnley we had the perfect example in where 'Dick' should be: Chris Eagles gave a sublime exhibition of play just behind Burnley's attack. Is it too much to expect for Jonesy to ever do likewise?
With best wishes,

Just because I have a different opinion to you doesnt mean Iv never played the game.

I no whitts well, and its because of this sort of idiotic post that himself and none of the other players read this board, how idiotic mate. He got 20 + from midfield last season and 10 + this season, he loves playing for the club. Hes not a hard tackling midfielder and its not his fault Jones played him CM all season. Who would you rather DJ play? JET couldnt give a hoot and Koumas has been hit and miss all season, rarely post but this is such a negative post 3 days before biggest game of season.

My opinion is not idiotic fella, you might not agree with it but its an opinion that I know many others share.
Granted, my post isnt exactly very well timed but as I said to Steve, I stand by everything I said.
And in answer to your question, yes I would play JET, got no idea why he was dropped in the first place, he was just coming into himself and had a great few games, then all of a sudden Jones bombed him out.
Iv also never disputed the fact that he chips in with goals and will have a blinder every now and again but as I said, this doesnt happen often enough for my liking.
The goals are excelent, but his all round play isnt up to scratch for my liking, clearly Im not alone in my thinking.
Fair play to you for sticking up for your mate though, wouldnt expect anything else, and Im glad he loves playing for the club and I hope he scores the winning goal at Wembley.
But it wont change my opinion that we should have sold him for £3million and bought another winger for £1.5m and a centre mid (Michael Brown) for the same price. Its nothing personal against him. Just what I thinks.
Just like I think Jones was stupid singing 2 loan keepers, especial Stephen Bywater!
