QPR will get a small points deduction and large fine.

Wed May 04, 2011 3:39 pm

The type of club that will usually be seen to be breaking these type of rules are the richer, Premier League clubs. This is down to the high amount of 3rd party ownership in South America, and when they come over here (such as Tevez) there are usually some dodgy dealings going on.
The top 4 is a lot tighter than most and a points deduction of between 3-5 points can be the difference between winning the league, or guaranteeing Champions League football.
For this reason I think QPR will recieve a points deduction, but not enough to take the title away, and then a large fine on top.

As far as Cardiff are concerned we need to look towards the playoffs now. I know a lot are ruling ourselves out already, but we need to get behind the boys for the game against Burnley and then the subsequent playoff games. I quite fancy another trip to Wembley personally and I think, just like when we went up from League One (Division Two) second time around we'll do it.

the punishment will depend on how the FA view the clubs "Wrecklessness & ignorance to the rules in place"

I would assume they will be going through the accounts to find out where the missing £2.9 million quid has gone? seeing as they apparently only paid £600,000 for a player they earlier boasted of paying £3.5m for?

This is probably the charge relating to the Misinforming (falsifying documents by Paladini) information handed to the FA by the club.

A big fine is no punishment at all, any club would love to have a big fine, yet still get the promotion ,but as its a London club I reckon they will get away with a big fine , and then only points taken away that will put them in 2nd place.

Craig, this to me is the major issue, supplying fake documents. They will have to come down hard or everybody will be doing it.

From what I can gather QPR actually paid NOTHING for Faurlin in 2009 but claimed via their website that the deal was 'worth up to £3.5m' this is what triggered the FA investigation.

Of course 'worth up to' doesn't mean 'actual amount paid'

However, they did make a 'deferred' payment of £600,000 to the agents which owned the economic rights to the player. However, Faurlin's old club Instituto de Córdoba (a second division Argentinean side) didn't receive a penny.

Any payments for overseas transfer payments (including those to third party agents who own economic rights) must go through the FA as a clearing house. It appears to me that QPR registered the transfer value as £0 with the FA (because they paid nothing to Instituto de Córdoba) but failed to inform of the deferred payment because it wasn't due to be paid until a year later when Alejandro Faurlín initial contract ran out.

I believe they are now in trouble because of the deferred payment which technically made Faurlin owned by a third party until October 2010. Their defence seems based on the new regulations didn't come into force until 4 days after they signed Faurlin so the mistakes were made in ‘good faith’ and any punishment shouldn't be retrospect.

IMO the false documentation was recording the transfer as NIL and not notifying the FA of the £600,000 deferred payment.

I'd love to think what you're saying about 2002/2003 is right, but the only problem is, we didn't have Dave Jones as our Manager then!

At last someone is starting to grasp the situation for what it is, I reckon you are not a million miles away there. There is no 'missing millions', just some bullshit used to appease supporters. The third party ownership issue is rife, Tevez is a prime example. When he played for Man Utd, who owned him? Tell you now it was not Man Utd as after two years they did not take up the option to buy him. In steps Man City paying £26million to buy him off some Iranian businessman! And by all accounts, according to a jour no on the radio this morning the use of licensed agents, but not FA registered is also rife in the game, so if QPR are found guilty of this then look out everyone else. The smart money is that the FA are making a complete pigs ear of the situation and could as a result of imposing any sanctions open up such a huge can of worms that they wish they never started the initial investigation.

As did Bristol City the year we beat them in the playoffs when we went up, forget the league it's gone, we will be in a mini tournament, and no team will want to play us, especially if the players haven't been out on the piss :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
