I'm not sure of the legal issues of this, but would this be possible:

The £4.5million bellamy would have to pay to buy out his contract with man city under Article 17 of the rules, could bellamy not just pay it and become a free agent, then Cardiff signing Bellamy on a free with a £4.5million signing on fee.

(The figure came from Carls update on Bellamy asking to stay, I think it was £4.5million anyway)

it was £5.4million. Either way, he wants to stay, dunno if that has changed now though lol
