Positives

Tue May 03, 2011 10:21 am

Seeing as we need them, here they are...

- For all the negativity about our defensive play and central midfield display on the plus side Kevin McNaughton and Craig Bellamy gave 100% all game yesterday to the extent where they were trying so hard it was forcing them to make rushed mistakes which added to their frustration. Whatever we say about the players who don't try hard, we mustn't forget those who do try hard. That one challenge Kev put in on (the lineswoman hehehe) their one player with his shins was amazing.

- We are in the playoffs. Ok, so we have three really tough teams to get past but why can't we? Why should one game change our mind set? We've bossed teams, including QPR last week for the past 2 months. We should fear no-one.

- Even if we don't go up, the Championship is a quality division. The football is so thrilling on the whole and it's not the worst division to be stuck in. Don't get me wrong I'd love Premiership football but maybe not going up and bringing a new regime in would be better long term?

- We still have 2-3 games left after the game next week! Our season is nowhere near finished yet!!!

So let's cut the negativity now. It's pointless. I'm fed up of feeling shitty.

If you look at the recent form tables its no wonder why Boro are currently 3rd so maybe yesterday was to be expected and another look at the table shows that there is no reason why we cant get all 3 points up at Burnley ??

I've got another positive Old Sourpuss himself has said "There's No Room For Sour Faces Around Here"

Can we take that as his resignation speech. ;)

Defeats I can handle - BUT , it is the nature of the defeat that I can't handle. I agree SuperKev gave his all yesterday and he may have made a few errors but if the whole team had given as much as him the result would have been different.

If I see everyone give their all and we lose then I can still be proud - I don't feel proud today !!

Bothroyd put on Twitter that teams dont win from being 0 - 3 down ............. but Merlin reminded him about our match away to Peterborough last season when from 0 - 4 down they came back to 4 - 4 , plus I seem to remember Plymouth clawing back 3 goals against us not so long ago ??

Yeah , we were 3-0 up and drew 3-3? Two own goals I think ?

That was a midweek game wasn't it? I remember watching it on Teletext (old skool!).

a positive from yesterday would have been maybe losing 2 - 3 and clawing back the goal diff over the Jacks or indeed getting a much needed point ............ but neither happened so can there be anything positive yesterday ??

I'm failing to find anything positive. I still feel very deflated at mo.

3 points at Burnley next Saturday will certainly change the mood 100% come this time next week :ayatollah:

If they do then will it fire up the Jacks more than City for the 3rd spot ?? They have players busting a gut to get to the Prem whereas we have current Prem players on loan who couldnt be arsed where they play aslong as they get paid ( not including Bellamy ) :ayatollah:

Yeah good point about loanees. But if they are docked 10 then we get yet another "must-win" game , setting the scene for another capitulation
