He's had too many chances that boy

Aye, even though it wasn't over the line - he is still a liability.
Tough one to call for the assistant cos on first viewing I thought it was in too - he's in a good position for the flow of play and he has to call it from that position.

i think it was a good decision.
most of the ball was over the line and the linesman has said goal...just like everyone else did whilst watching the game, if he had said no i don't think i could put up with the goal line technology debate again

At the end of the day he got it wrong though.
If that was us you'd be wanting to kick f**k out of him

yeah i see what you mean and ye i would agree, but most of the ball was over...not the whole ball though so he has called it as he's seen it and assumed the ball went over the line and gomes brought it back over. hard decision to call, not the right one but i wouldn't blame the linesman, gomes should have saved it!!

Spot on - he's gave it in good faith. Refs(and assistants) will always get decisions wrong, there has to be some sort of expansion with technology but I don't agree with video replays and stopping the game every 5 mins to view something. I do some youth refereeing and I know I get some wrong but once it's restarted then that's the way it goes!
There's a 4th official there, he should be able to advise from a monitor. I've only ever heard of 1 getting involved and it cost us a penalty kick at Millwall!

how many top quaity keepers are there around ,not many, a good keeper has got to be worth a lot of money but no kids ever want to play in goals.in 35 years of wathcing the city the keepers i have thought very good .healey dibble, ward and a thirty something wood, about as rare as rocking horse shit is a good keeper.
