Not sure he will be able to bounce back from another playoff final loss again, if that happens!! I was surprised he stayed on this time round after his reaction to last years loss!! I would want him to stay though!

I hate the miserable tw*t but he has improved the club again this season and 79 points, with 2 games to go, is a record number during his time at the club.

Whilst he continues to improve the club it is difficult at argue that he should go, as much as I would like to see the back of the miserable sod. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Hope they keep hold of him,i feel if we get rid of him we will go on a downward spiral like Sheff Utd,Preston,Middlesborough,Derby all because of getting rid of managers...just my opinion!

COME ON BLUEBIRDS! :ayatollah:

if his money is as much as we are led to believe then i wonder if he would be keen to stay IF it was brought down to a league average? :old:

If the man discovers depth and the ability to change a game to win I don't see the problem in him staying if we're still a Champ team.

Only problem is:

Heaton, Matshall
McNaughton, Naylor, Quinn,
Blake, Hudson, Keinan, Gerrard,
Whitts, McPhail, Taiwo, Wildig
Parkin, Chopra

15 players as all others are out of contract. Not a great start needing about 10 players absolute minimum, looks like a rebuilding process to me, be very hard to achieve anything like what happened this season.

Wasn't Lennie in charge on Black Friday?

Hate to say this but I think Dave is now in a very sticky situation. As everyone knows I am a big fan of DJ and I've always defended him on here.

The situation is though if we don't go up then he'll no doubt be under pressure. That's is of course very wrong and unfortunately the only way some will see how lucky Cardiff are to have him is when he's no longer there. However chances are - fail to go up and fail in the play-off's would mean he'd probably be forced out.

On the other hand if Cardiff do manage to go up this season then life is going to be very difficult in the Premiership. The current set of City fans can't handle losing the odd game here and there so how the hell they'll manage losing most weeks I don't know. Reality is, the first year in the Premiership means a dog fight to stay in that league. Dave Jones is up to that fight but I don't think that he'd be given the chance and so be replaced by someone else. It happened to him the last time he went up aso he'll no doubt be aware of it.

If we get promoted and he doesn't have more than £10m to spend on players then anything above 35 points would be an achievement.

He's going to need a hell of a lot more than 10m. Out of interest how many players will be left at the club in a few weeks time? I think we might find he'll need a lot more than 10m just to put a squad together for this division, going up will be a few quid more I think.

I'm more concerned about how we will cope without Craig Bellamy, who for all intenence and purposes has been the manager this season certainly on a motivational level.

If DJ takes us up, he then deserves the chance to keep us up, If it wasn't for the fact that Chopra got injured, I think we would have struggled to get into the play offs. Bellamy was a problem for DJ because he tried to accomodate both strikers, and we wern't using Bellamy to the best effect, by playing him wide and giving him the correct pass i,e behind the defender for him to outstrip the fullback we are now starting to score goals, and win games.
Why did it take a player getting injured for the pieces to fall into place? does it say perhaps he was not astute enough?
Lets hope that we can get the little bit of luck and results we need, to go up automatic. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We are where we are because keeping a good manager brings stability which takes time as the team improves and the club grows.

I don't understand what has changed to make so many think like this. A few months ago, most were happy to concede that if we don't go up, DJ should walk. Nothing has changed - in fact that viewpoint may have weakened even more since then

All GOOD news for me....

Will go down as one of the great Cardiff City managers. Hopefully. we won't 'repent at our leisure' by letting him go too soon
