Parking at the ground yesterday

Sun Apr 24, 2011 7:34 am

Having paid for a season parking ticket I was gobsmacked that I could not park in the area allocated on my pass. After allowing plenty of time it took an extra 20mins searching, eventually parking in KFC and only just making the start of the game (I was not the only one). Surely there has to be a better system if they are going to sell out spaces if we get to the premier league. Mind you ,on a positive note, it was easier getting out of the main entrance than onto sloper road. So I will be parking there again.

I've noticed this in the last few games but with the game being a sellout yesterday the problem was huge. I have had a parking permit for both season since the stadium has been open and have always been able to find a space, in the same area of zone A, in every game.

But in the last few games since the club has been selling spaces "On the Day" it's been a bit of a nightmare, I have no problem with the club selling parking spaces which are available but yesterday there were cars parked on walkways, pavements and in the channels between the parking spaces.

Very poorly organised by the club but then again who is responsible for these arrangements, Wayne Nash, enough said I think. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I would have thought it's a simple process. Spaces are sold like seats. If someone parks in your space then you take their reg plate and they are clamped or fined?

You don't actually get a dedicated parking space just a space in a designated zone, in my case zone A, but yesterday ALL spaces in Zone A were FULL so people just parked anywhere they could including pavements.

From a Health & Safety perspective that has to be unacceptable and IMO is of far greater concern than people standing inside the stadium.

As I said I have no problem with the club selling any available spaces on a match day but surely they no how many permit holders there are and how many free spaces are available. But yesterday they oversold the available spaces and that is wrong and potentially dangerous.

I wonder if it could get worse next season. I have a Zone A pass and yesterday it was rammed. I parked in Zone B which was better for me as I have to walk all the way round to the family stand but I obviously rook up someone else spot.

Anyone know what policy the JD Sports gym have on parking when you are a member. May park there have a quick jacuzzi session like in the WKD advert and then go to the game.
