A forum for all things Cardiff City

The lads from the Young Guns scheme asked me to pass on their thanks to everyone who donated to the bucket collectors today, it was great to see the young kids doing something positive and enjoying themselves in the process, a big thanks to them and their parents for coming along.
We will let everyone know the progress of the fund raising as it comes in, also a big thanks to Carl and some of the other forum helpers for raising close on £100 with a raffle in the Ninian before the game.

It was brilliant to see the children holding placards ' Help me become the next Aaron Ramsey '
I must thank Nips (Premier1), Jamie (Jamccfc) and the most important little worker Angharad Curtis, who loves to be involved and help out.

just the raffle alone in the Ninian raised £85 and there was a raffle at Morgan's Bar in Tonypandy, I am not sure how much was raised there but will find out from Gwyn.
The bucket collection will be counted at the club this week and we will announce how much was raised off that soon.

My lad was one of the boys shaking the buckets yesterday (I think I've managed to attach a photo of him and his mate!). Many thanks for organising this. The boys had a great time doing it and there looked like there was a fairly hefty amount of money at the end of the session before the game and also quite a bit more (inlcuding a few notes!!) following a quick run around the premier seating bars during the half-time break. Thanks again.

Fair play to Gwyn and his wife Alison, both spent hours making T shirts, banners, getting buckets, marking them all up and then trying hard to promote the events...It will be nice if the press helps out in future event planning and advertising. If any of you know a local football club who would like to play a Cardiff City legends team during the summer to raise more monies for the Young Gun's let Gwyn know..Pontypridd are doing just that and guaranteeing a grand, which is amazing but we don't expect that at every event but if we could raise monies this way and then talk about the initiative after the match that would boost the fund and spread the word.

My lad and his cousin collected in the Canton Stand and I'm pleased to say that plenty of fans gave very generously. In fact, when we were walking back at the end of the first session ahead of kick-off, people were making their way towards the kids to put money in the buckets. The piece in the matchday programme was also useful as it explained about this initiative and the development centres. Thanks for organising this.
