Great to see the lads carrying on doing what they know how to do unlike our senior winning matches :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Own goal earns Wales win

Wales` Under-21s began their qualification campaign for the 2013 Under-21 European Championship with an unconvincing 1-0 win away to Andorra.

Brian Flynn's side were indebted to an own goal from home defender Armand Fajardo in the 21st minute when he overhit a back pass to put the ball beyond goalkeeper Oriol Oliva.

It proved the decisive moment as Wales failed to add to the scoreline and fell short of the type of performances that saw them narrowly miss out on reaching this summer's finals.

Swansea full-back Ashley Richards captained a new-look side that was without his club team-mate Joe Allen due to a shoulder problem.

The visitors began strongly with Ryan Doble and Elliott Chamberlain both forcing early saves from Oliva before the goalkeeper was beaten by Fajardo's unfortunate moment.

It was costly for the hosts who had the better of the second half but could not find an equaliser as Wales goalkeeper Rhys Taylor made three saves to ensure maximum points.

Wales will now not be in action in Group Three until September 6 when they are away to Montenegro.

The Czech Republic and Armenia are the other two teams in the group
