If someone from either team had wanted a scrap they could easily have had one. However anyone with a brain cell knows that St Mary Street is full of CCTV so if you kick off there you will end up inside.

We've all seen the video
At the beginning there is very little police presence - so the Jacks could easily have broken through if they wanted to.
There was only a small amount of Cardiff there when the JAcks decided to have a little push ( only when the police were there to 'hold them back')

the police didnt start surrounding the jacks properly until they got to the prince of wales. The jacks could have broke out of that police escort by then and stayed in cardiff. Looks like they wanted to go home.
