I made an error with the first information I sent home from London...I only know about 9 of the 13 on trial Today and the last 4 on late this afternoon pleaded guilty but I cannot tell you how they got off because I had left by then...I thought it had all finished but it was lunch...so we only know about 9...and its really bad news again unfortunately
I attended court today and once again very harsh sentences were given to virtually all those in court...it was heart breaking for their families and one had his heavily pregnant girlfriend with him in court only to be sent down,,,it got confusing in there for me because I knew none of them but they were just the same as our lads, mostly working and all with good families supporting them..
In the first session 4 were in the dock 2 had 18 months for Violent disorder, 2 months longer than my son got, but although they did similar to Pete, they had previous, even if it was dated back to the eighties in some cases....one lad had very strong mitigating circumstances and at last some compassion was shown but he still got 12 months, the fourth lad did nothing but be in the area, he had covered his face with a hod and was seen bouncing about but not really doing a lot...he got six months...lol
The next three got varying sentences ranging from 12 to 14 months, one lad finally was given a suspended sentence and then we had a lad who got 2 years.
The judge stated that the first 4 will get their senteces halfed, the same applies to the next three...all will have 6 year banning orders, the lad with suspended gets 3 year ban and the reasons for this was that they pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity..
The lad who got 2 years did the same as the rest on trial really, nothing more but he had pleaded not guilty but was foung guilty...so the judge increased his sentence to 2 years...whether that gets halved I could not tell you..the judge did not state that and I could not ask anyone...will try tomorrow to find out because that is important for the lads who still have to face trial.
AF was there and the reporter talked to him about this case and he was quite frank about it all...he is due back in court in May for sentencing, he told us his case was adjourned for medical reasons until May,,he also said that JM was in court Tomorrow and the legal team were expecting at least 3 years but they are hopeful that it maybe less..there are expected to be a lot of media interest Tomorow, Sky were there today but I thnk there is a media blackout until Tomorrows sentences have been concluded,,,
so ther you have it, I have broken their blackout lol...wish it was better news for the Chelsea fans and mre importantly their families who have to pick up the pieces...I seen footage again Today highlighting things from a Cheisea view and yes sme people would have been scared by what was happening but it was not worth the sentences that have been meted out to both sets of fans...its way over the top and if they treated every offence similar to this... then every friday and Saturday at closing time in city centres and nite club venues we would see thousands in jail... and don't get me started on Rugby weekends in Wales...far worse violence takes place then...
Another day Tomorrow and although my son is doing time for this I genuinely hoped that others would not suffer the same fete and some sense would prevail, or the flaming jails would be too full, but the turmoil goes on there were 96 originally on trial another two were recently added making 98...to my knowledge there have been about 6 suspended sentences and two not guilty...over 30 now sentenced between 6-24 months.
Sorry for confusing everyone hopefully the last 4 today were not too harshly dealt with, they looked quite young

Corky
Did you find out after what the two Chelsea lads were doing who got off with it?
Cheers

I did ask a few people and they all reckon that the CCTV evidence was not good enough ans a lot of evidence against them was hearsay, one mans word against another and the jury decided in this instance to ive not guilty..I will ask again Tomorrow though

Thanks Corky for keeping us up to date, I feel for both sets of fans, these jail terms are all wrong. Once again it just goes to show that people in authority including police, politicians, courts are not to be trusted.

Cheers Corky, My thoughts go out to all the Chelsea lads, just as with Cardiff, they are all in the same boat at the end of the day and the sentencing for this is an utter disgrace. Hopefully they'll be back home with their families as soon as possible.
