I know he has his knockers (well thats what happens when you stop training every day as a footballer and enjoy the odd pie or two) but you have to feel for Dave Jones
He's brought some quality through into the team but has had to sell constantly with hardly any of the money given for team strengthening
i feel for him.
short and sweet thats all

I feel sorry for what has happened to him in his past.
But I can't forgive for the uninspiring and miserable way he "leads" - not - our team.
Insipid.

I read his book and my attitude towards him has mellowed. he has never shown emotion as a manager ever.
But 5th in league an fa cup final all with no fugging money to spend and bringing the club in £30 million what other manager could run our club better with both his hands tied behind his back. its risdale thats the problem give jones the 3.2million he was promised and we can push on without it we will fall away.

Jones has by and large been excellent in the transfer market with limited transfer funds to spend. However, he has always been given a substantial wage budget to work with, far above what we could and can afford. So when he goes on about historic debt and I've paid my way, its a rather selective statement devoid of truth and somewhat hypocritical, especially when Fowler, JFH & Sinclair totalled around £3m for one season with no re-sale value. When he has been pressed on such matters he quite rightly says that's the Chairman's domain, but when the opportunity presents itself for him to speak about such things on his terms, he gladly indulges himself. As he says, I'm responsible for football, not finance, so don't bring it up Dave!

Indeed Dean, but Sinclair & Fowler's contribution was minimal to say the least, whilst JFH never impressed me, though at least he got through some games. Jones had a wage bill that season of £13.4m, despite turnover being inferior to that which led to an operating loss of £8.4m for the season. Is that paying your way Dave? Even with players sold we still made a significant loss which added yet again to the already considerable debt. As for what we made off the Cup final it was around the same as what it cost to pay the 3 amigos so not a real earner as such. Not trying to diss Jones or take away the acheivement of reaching the Final, I think he has done an excellent job on the whole and I do not understand those who try to lessen the acheivement in reaching the final. I have grown exasperated since the tail end of last season with Jones for so many reasons, but when people allude to having to work with severe constraints, I would suggest hat was only so when he first took over. Since then he has always had a significant wage bill which has been the major fator in accruing more debt, and whilst he has had to sell his best players and had limited funds to spend on transfer fees, that is no different to most teams in the Championship and in truth even the Prem. The wage bill is the primary budget with which to work and Jones has always had a significan budget to spend, his dealings in the transfer marekt while by and large excellent have merely subsidised him operatring with a far larger wage bill than we could and can afford.
