My dad was down at the Vale earlier

Thu Mar 17, 2011 8:02 pm

Just got a call from my Dad. He was down Vale earlier playing Golf with some friends and on the 16th hole, another group who had just finished the 15th came up in their buggy. Their game had a higher priority so Dad and co. had to let them tee off first. The guys get out of the buggy and its DJ and another bloke. My Dad goes:

“We’ll only let you pass if you get a result this Saturday!”

Eric, one of my Dad mates who’s a red shirted Scouser followed up with:

“You bloody Evertonian”

They all had a laugh and my Dad even got me his autograph. DJ tees off (very good with a golf club apparently) and continues his game. As Dad and his lot were finishing the 18th hole, they hear a car toot its horn and see DJ leaving in a Range Rover, who gave them a wave.

Say what you want about DJ as a manager, but he is a decent human being.

if i was the city manager, i wouldnt be playing golf with only 9 games to go, after training with the lads I would be studying videos of all our upcoming teams & doing everything i could to get us promoted!! sorry but with the pressure on him at the moment he should be 100% football, he can go on a golfing holiday at the end of the season & celebrate promotion hopefully!!

Good to hear a balance on things all DJ. I for one am guilty for ripping into him for his arrogance and other elements of his personality without actually meeting him personally...although I'm not alone in thinking how I do so I can't be completely wrong. Then again we could all be wrong

WELL does it not sum the effort up!

he obviously thinks everyone is home n dry and he can relax - cos be fair thats what a round of golf is all about unwinding relaxing and chilling out - and going by his mannerisms on the sideline he is well golfed up!

I could not care what DJ does persoanlly in his private live but professionally it is a concern and for me he needs less relaxing and more choping on the side line IMO : )

Out of 5 training days a week DJ spends two of them golfing while Terry Burton takes the training, at the same time as this is happening, DJ is having his car valeted, his PA fills his car up with petrol on the Clubs account.
On the days DJ does some of the training DJ goes in a golf bug to the training while the rest walk. Rem training only lasts about 2 half hrs a day. hmm

So really your recent performances are Terry Burton's fault ;)

And that my friends is what is known as "in the comfort zone". Who would have any concern about remaining in the championship if this is the lifestyle. Too much reward for this lot for what they actually do - too much by far. In any other line of business you would need to be top performing business people to earn what they do. Scandalous really.

I personally don't give a shite what DJ gets upto in his personal life, just as long as he gets us up. I've backed DJ upto this season and I admit he is now on thin ice.

But to suggest that he has to be football 100% 24 hours a day is just laughable. I know people on here can't stand the bloke, but everyone deserves a bit of free time, be that DJ, VT, TG, The Queen, everyone.

Lets stop slating and get behind the lads

No Jack as Burtons does all the training at the training ground, BUT NO ONE BUT DJ HAS THE FINAL SAY ON WHO PLAYS and WHAT POSITION THEY PLAY.

I have Annis. So he doesn't take training everyday, that's why he has coaches.
I don't care that he has his car valeted or his PA fills his car up. Do you know that he doesn't watch vids of the opposition or talks tactics with the other coaches during the day other than these 2 1/2 hrs?
I know he is on stupid money for the job he does, but does every manager just sit at home after training (If they do that every day) and study the game 24/7? I don't think so.

Rhodri has said something decent about the man and then it decends into DJ witch hunt.

Is his nick name on the golf course Tommy 2 Gloves

Some of the DJ fans are getting rather touchy, please can you give us some positives about him :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

No one is asking you or anyone for that matter to praise him. Rhrodi has told us that his old man met DJ and the bloke was decent.

Then for everyone to suggest that he should be eating, sleeping, shitting football is just pathetic

If you must know Annis, the first Cardiff City match I ever watched was on my 20th birthday, August 8th 2009, Cardiff vs Scunthorpe. Not only was that my first City game, it was my first football match. 9 months later, I was queuing over night at CCS for Wembley tickets and buying my first city shirt. Now I proudly drink from a Centenary jug, sing Cardiff chants while in the shower, file away my match day programme and ticket after each match and I'm proud that this season I've yet to willingly pass the opportunity to see a game (only illness and work stopped me from going to Burton, Doncaster, Coventy and Watford). Now I'm considering a season ticket and/or away membership for next season. I'm a new generation Cardiff fan and I owe to the achievements of David Jones and his Barmy Army. :ayatollah: And CCS. 8-)

thats a fuckin joke, the guy needs to spend more time with the team then they will play for him on the pitch for a full 90 minutes and perhaps respect him as a manager. :o
