prices are good and you have a lot of food on your plate, not a bad meal

Stunning food but a little bit more expensive than most places. I go there quite often as i don't live far from it. highly recommended by me

Hi there went here for food last night 04/04/11 . What can i say NEVER AGAIN though, entered the establishment and there was only me my other half and my little girl in my party and there was only 1 other couple eating there it was dead inside. Stood at the bar for 10 mins looking at the back of the barman waiting to get served, got bored with waiting so decided to phone the actuall pub and explain i was stood a the bar waiting (i should of left a this time). Got seated after getting some drinks (No juice drinks for children) i had to take my drinks and my own menus to the table (great service). Deciced on what it was were we going to have to eat myself 16oz t-bone with saute potatoes mrs 12oz rump with saute potatoes daughter smiley faces and chicken nuggets, (was told they dont do smiley faces even though it is in the menu he then checked to find out they do surely you should know your menu????) food came out of kitchen with the bar man carrieing some and the chef carrieing the other half of the order the bar man came to my table the chef walked over to the other table after being called 3 times by the bar man he still continued to goto the other table (not to clever i dont think). Eventually got our food was mildly warm as i looked i noticed that we both had chips with our food so i questioned the bar man as to where were our saute potatoes? his reply was oh sorry i will get them fetched out in 2 mins seperate for you he had to then tell the still standing there chef 2 times to go and do the potatoes. They arrived to find i had 2 bowls of soggy ex boiled potatoes warmed up covered in butter and diced onions (i have never had them like this before ever). I tasted one and spat it back into the bowl and so did my mrs they were not nice at all. I ate my steak as by this time i was starving and the baby had started eating her dripping in oil smiley faces. The steak didnt even touch the sides and i didnt even feel like i had eaten a full meal. When the plates were being taken away the bar man made the comment that the chips must of been better than the potatoes and i approached the subject of they were real nasty tasteing and all he offerd was a oh ok then reply. The food was warm covered in greasy sliced onions over everything which it does not state and i do not like anyways everythign tasted the same about the best part of my meal was the bland tasteing coleslaw i had as a side dish. As we left the lady which worked behind the bar offered my little girl a lolly which she took and as i stated to my daughter you best enjoy that lolly because its a £40 lolly as the food wasnt worth a tenner. I will never eat here again and places like this wonder why they are empty and on the verge of closure (you never learn these things unless you try them though) i hope this review of my experiance gets back to them and they do something about it because they have taken the name of an old establishment that used to be in cardiff town and are doing it no justice what so ever.

Yeah i highley recommend it NOT. Even the vase on the table was a Gordons half pint glass with 2 Dafodils stuck init.

No links to the Cardiff Taurus Steakhouse and NOT the place to impress your wife or girlfriend....

Drab surroundings, average fayre and limited menu at best....

Plenty of leg-room during the week, though....if you get my drift!!

went there for a works doo had a good laugh there plenty of drinks and from what i can remember the food was good steak very nice .

Would recommend grills in Pontypridd very nice steak and the chips are real chips not frozen shit a very nice steak house.

Also had a good steak at the ty mawr in lisvane all local produce and v nice to but as its lisvane a tad pricey.

OWWRR Steak loves it.

Hope we beat them dirty jack bastards tomorrow cant wait 2-1 to us
