Anyone disappointed with the match day experience served up by the club thus far into our tenure at CCS?
Putting aside our performance on the pitch, how would you rate the clubs efforts in firstly making the place accomodating for fans? And secondly how they have managed the stadium and its potential in respect of generating a real feel good factor and enthusiasm, that would service the atmosphere?
When the stadium was being built and the club were attempting to drive sales of season tickets etc we were advised the concourse areas would immediately change our match day routines, as they advised we would want to go there and watch the early/ later kick offs on Sky in a new and refreshingly modern environment.
I know the owners have changed, however I'm not impressed at all with the clubs efforts in either aspect. Yes the club is accomodating for us all in terms of facilities - theres a bar, vast concourses, easily accessible toilets etc. However that is where the effort ends for me - the early kick offs on Sky are now rarely shown for whatever reason? And as we all know, the clubs efforts when addressing the atmosphere and feel good factor has been widely debated, mainly due to how poor it is.
Why haven't they tried playing music in the concourse areas...or at least in the Canton where the atmosphere is generated in the main? This i believe would get everyone bang in the mood, and it would then be taken to the stands. I remember in the Grange end at Ninian, when having a drink behind the stand, the stadium was so open you could hear the pre-match music being played and it used to get us all in the mood - Ali used to play up to date tunes prior to kick off then, whats happended to all that as well?
There just doesn't seem to be any want or care from the club to try and transform CCS into a genuine feeling of it being our home, and somewhere we can fondly remember - as apposed to provoking negativity as to how depressingly boring it can be at times when its flat etc.
Why not try linking up the TVs to a sound system and playing previous matches where both the fans and the team have been on form, as well as music?
Having a proper atmosphere that we created previously in a match blasted into our ears prior to kick off would get us all going and singing the songs going into the stands where it can continue. Getting it started sometimes is half the battle. There was always a great atmosphere prior to kick off at Ninian, and it was then easy to continue as the players walked out and during the game - we dont get that at CCS and the club needs to seriously look at it imo, as if this continues we'll have a new generation of fans who would never have experienced why our fanbase have the reputation it has and more importantly they will have no example of continuing that reputation in the future.
Its critical this is addressed and CCS starts to rock, because we clearly have issues to overcome if we cant do it whilst being in the top 4 all season! Message to the powers that be...SORT IT OUT!!!
