Is championship football that bad???

Wed Mar 16, 2011 7:15 am

just stop to think, premiership means sunday evening kick offs, monday night kick offs and those stupid saturday noon kick offs and then we may even get to play ay 3pm on a saturday(once in a while) aand even though we lose a few games in the championship would you want to go see your team have a hammering week in week out???

to be honest I like championship football, and i really dont care if we go up or not :ayatollah:

Its a good point.

As soon as the novelty wears off (if and its a * big if) I think the club and the fans will implode.

Look at us now when we expect to win. What we gonna be like when we expect to lose.

How good does that make the winning though

I've watched a team win 1 league game all season(36 games) and it took around 27 attempts. Could have sworn we had won the Scottish Cup.

Monday nights at Sunderland and Newcastle would do me

I hate the Premiership with a passion. Dictated by Sky and ruined by the ££ Monies ££. Wish we could go up and then just opt out to be honest.

Maybe this is DJ's plan then, he's just prepping us for what we will be going through week in week out

I strangely agree. The Championship battle is so much fun and the Premiership will just be a struggle. Saying that, why not? The Premiership could be a laugh! :D :ayatollah:

I agree, I preferred games when we didn't expect much, but I have to be honest and say it would nice to get up there for at least one season and see how it goes.

Wouldn't mind a weekend in Newcaslte a bit more often :D

I think you are right though, the novelty would soon wear off for a lot of our fans and we would stuggle taking 1000+ to places like Bolton, Blackburn etc.

i personally prefer the championship to the prem, much more exciting football, less plastic fans, better atmosphere and all with in the chance with winning :ayatollah:

i'v had a laugh in the championship over the last 7/8 years , we'v seen good times and bad times, two wembley finals, we'v been top of the league and fucked it it :ayatollah:
and we'v been near relagation, remember going bonkers in Gillingham near end of the season because we had equalised for a crucial point
fun times,

I disagree about the better atmosphere thing, is a half empty Keepmoat Stadium, Deepdale & Liberty Stadium louder than a packed out St James' Park, Anfield, Goodison Park, Britannia Stadium, Old Trafford, White Hart Lane, etc, etc. No chance.

plastic fans are being turned into city fans!i was brought up in an area where you supported liverpool or man utd.i worked with a young lad who followed city in ebbw vale steelworks.i started watchin city results, then was asked to watch city v brum in the last season at the ninian.went to 4 games that season and was hooked.Been city through n through ever since.i stand n sing and mrs thinks im unbearable if we lose.if it was down to the old heads, city fans would wither away eventually.city support needs to get bigger and it got to start somewhere

Good point but...........

Saying that was reading that some Arsenal season tickets are going up from £2500 a season to £2700 and that the cheapest season ticket they've got is just under a grand, let's hope we never get that fucked up.

Anyway, onwards and upwards ...... I hope
