A forum for all things Cardiff City

The Good News, there was NO BOOING LAST NIGHT, I 100% GUARANTEE THAT, SO DAVE JONES CAN NOT BLAME THE 1,008 STRONG, CARDIFF CITY FANS WHO TOOK TIME OF WORK and SHELLED A LOT OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY OUT TO FOLLOW THEIR BELOVED WHO CLUB.
A lot of us even clapped them off at the end of the game.
I thought Palace were the better team in the first half and City in the second half. But then we have a penalty saved and bang they score, thats football, thats life, So 117 games and 6 years later, City fans go totally silent hoping and preying that Dave Jones can tactically change the side/formation anything, even bring on the Beast straight away, but No The Beast is brought on with barely 7 mins to go, why was he again not brought on earlier in the game. we have now Won 9 or 10 games out of that 117 games, some fans say so what,Well I say thats Shocking and Shows he has NO PLAN B and thats why Our Fans go quite and give up just like Our Team has in those 117 games.
I am big Bells and Jay Fan, but they were once again awful last night, Come on Jones if your the manager show them you are, its time to change the team around for the Barnsley game.
I REM PRESTON AWAY HAMMERED BY 6 GOALS, then GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE WITH IPSWICH LAST EVER HOME GAME OF THE SEASON and IT STILL HURTS, HAMMERED by 3 GOALS and then we were still given another chance by a poor Wednesday Side beaten again and OUR THOUSANDS OF FANS YET AGAIN LET DOWN. Lets not even talk about Blackpool last Season.
COME ON CITY FANS WHATS THE SOLUTION ?
Over a 1,000 of us turned up last night and did not turn on OUR TEAM or MANAGER.
But what I DID NOT SEE FROM OUR TEAM or MANAGER WAS ANY PASSION/BOTTLE/GUTS or TACTICS.
SO SURELY JONES and CO SHOULD START ADMITTING ITS HIS/THEIR FAULT THAT WE KEEP FALTERING YEAR ON, YEAR IN and STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE.
2 Back to back Defeats against supposedly awful opposition.
Just a quick comment, A Manager who keeps blaming Fans/MB's to me that is not a good sign and its a manager who is panicking/stressed and cant take pressure, just My Opinion.
Those who say I pick on Dave Jones, I AM FAN, I PAY MY MONEY AND I HAVE A RIGHT TO MY SAY, I AM NOT A FAN WHO SAYS THERE SHIT and DOES NOT COME BACK AGAIN. What about JONES PICKING ON US ?
" SO WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE ? "

Annis, we were controlling 2nd half so no need to change things. Their goal time 82 mins? Doesnt leave a lot of time does it?
Anyway, glad to hear you got behind the team last night as normal when we are away. Enjoy the best roller coaster in the world that is Cardiff City
Wed Mar 09, 2011 8:59 am
annis whos formation was that last night dj or burton the reason i ask is dj capable of changing from 442 whats the point of playing chops on wing when we have burke on bench
Wed Mar 09, 2011 8:59 am
The opportunity to sack him was at the start of January. We didn't take it. I still think we should have but we didn't. That decision has now made me believe the best thing is just support the team no matter what until May.
Will we still go up? I really don't know. I hope so and I will keep the faith. On the bright side, if we don't go up Jones won't be here next season. I do think it's unbelievable that given our side we're not 1st or 2nd and I get embarrassed when we have the side that we do and we're still saying 'we'll only go up if we get Ramsey or another central midfielder'... we shouldn't need them!
I've had my knockers in the other thread stating a call to positive arms but I stand by that call. We need to make sure the pressure is as minimal as possible so we can just get on and do our thing. Football is a funny old game and everything can change in 90 minutes. I believe things will change.

Annis I am afraid we are stuck with DJ until the end of the season, if someone new came in with 12 games left we would probably do worse than if DJ was left in charge, too little time left, I have been a DJ supporter, but I have lost my patience now, but as I said it would be suicide to change the manager with 12 games left, UNLESS, they put Burton in charge forthe remaining games, then the upheaval would be minimal

Deano, Dave Jones has taken complete control of the formation and has become so stubborn, he refuse to listen to the rest of his management team.

i was looking forward to this run in,but after last night not so much...
Losing to ipswich was just unlucky but last night what was that all about. why are we so inconsistant, weve been given an easy run in compared to the other top teams and were still losing to palace,we need a convincing win now.
i dont want jones here and will never change my mind hes just not good enuff and shud get the team going, and make changes what will change the game but he incapable of doing it..
My Answer Being I Dont Know Where We Go From Here, There Needs To Be Change For Next Season Because The Current Set Up Has Run Its Course And Gone Stale
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:05 am
annis i totally agree with your post
we have no fight or passion when we play and it seems to me other teams alyways want it more
i think if jones come out and accepted defeat by saying our team just wasnt good enough i made the wong subs by not giving them a chance with 5 mins to go he would help his situation a lot more
but instead he so negative towards the fans the media its every 1 else's fault except his......... i wonder if he will single out any more of his players for a loss this season
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:06 am
Dave Jones is a bottler. He bottles tactics, team selection and substitutions. He needs to cut this out and be more adventurous. We'll never go up otherwise
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:08 am
I`m starting to turn against him. I fear the worst for our club if we dont go up. I`ve looked at the league table twice this morning and its heartbreaking to see where we could have been with the 6 points lost.
It is a very tough league , no doubt about it, but having said that, IF YOU WANT TO GO UP AUTOMATIC , we should have beaten ipswich and palace. we still got qpr and burnley, we cant afford to lose.
What looked like what could have been our best ever season, could easily turn out to be our worst.
I cant take another play off defeat especially if the jacks beat us to the top flight.
No-one can blame supporters for turning their backs on this club come end of season. sadly, it is a business and i`ll be fucked if im spending my hard earned cash on a shit product, when i could use that cash on my families future.

Zabier/I GOVERNOR/ Martyn
I personally believe, we have no other choice but to stick with him till May as much as I would like to see him gone,We are still in it thanks to our division being so unpredictable, but the more Jones keeps coming out with out bursts against the fans and the more he and the players show no passion and inept to come back from a goal down, how can we expect OUR FANS TO SHOW PASSION BACK TO THEM. THIS DOES NOT FEEL LIKE A PROMOTION SEASON IN MY OPINION.

Annis, that sentence right there is where some of my hope comes from. Last season did feel like a promotion season to me. The start versus Scunthorpe, the Leicester games, the Swansea game... it all felt like it was destined for one result... promotion. This season has been so deflated, the way football works I am hoping that it is our year. Remember when we went up from League One? We were terrible that season. I remember feeling the same after the 3-0 Colchester home defeat as I do now. Look what happened then. I believe it will happen again.
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:13 am
We need to try and keep the Faith until the end of the Season, you never know, we may just get promoted....my only worry is the Midfield, we need fighters, ball winners, someone to lead the team in the middle, we've not got one....we are far too powder puff at times, and clearly we're missing Ramsey and Oli....these two defeats in my eyes have come about by not taking our chances and then getting punished, thats football, knowing us and our consistancy, we'll prob hit Barnsley for 6 on Sunday....
You'd swear we were in the bottom 3 with all the gloom on here

In Roy Hodgsons short spell as liverpool manager he criticised the fans i remember the pundits on TV saying once you criticise your own fans your days are numbered how many times have Dave Jones had a go at us fans. He needs to wise up and take responsibility for our performances and stop blaming everyone else.
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:16 am
4 points from the nxt 2 games will defo do for me as we cant allow the likes of Millwall and Burnley to gain ground altho IF Burnley win their 2 games in hand they will go above us
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:32 am
Jones tactics are wrong beyond belief last two games Annis.
If he is not listening to the rest of his staff then he should 'cos his aren't working?
Is Jones still on that rolling contract, beacause he darn well shouldn't be?!
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:35 am
Martyn, I was going to say the exact same thing about Jones just adopting the mantra "what will be will be" with regards his tactics. His stubborness in this area is very misguided for the simple reason that it doesn't work.
He is not a proactive manager, I don't care what anyone says. He puts his team out, and just hopes for the percentages to go his way. He never seems to tweak individual elements of our play, hence when Parkin plays with Jay, the team still act as though Chopra is there.
The worst thing about him is that he has us playing a style of football that necessitates us 'battling' with the opposition. We haven't got intent
Messageboard, I've not even started yet

WE have been without oli and Rambo for our last 2 games and we lost both games, before that we had not lost and we kept a few clean sheets . So I would say lets wait for Oli to come back and see , but on the other hand , Jones said we are not a one man team ! I would say at this time we do need one man and to save our promo push, but who the hell and where the hell is he going to come from ?

Annis I've been agreeing with you all season mate. Jonesy is stubborn with his substitutions. Bothroyd should have been dropped for the last two games. He spends more time on his arse than his feet. Picking him for England was the worst thing they could do. We won't make the playoffs the way we going.

Paul Foy I think jonesy leaves it to late to change tactics he tries to weather the storm and see if anything changes when clearly he should be acting a lot faster i can honestly say to me its as if the team has lost faith lose a few games moral goes down we are still in with a chance the season,s not over yet but the players need to focus on winning next all important games.Jonesy goes end of season cant get any more chances

Gareth Gardner We are only 2 points from Automatics. If everyone believes and we get behind the team and manager, im sure everything will be ok. The team will click starting this Sunday, 5-0 win against Barnsley. You watch the mood change next week then. Our fans can be so fickle at times

I have no idea where we go from here and neither does DJ IMO and sadly whatever the final outcome to this season is it will be decided by fate pure and simple as far as I am concerned.
I have watched the Bluebirds for over 40 years and in sporting terms they have been the real passion of my life but in recent years that passion has been on the wane. After the game last night the wife said to me they have just lost and you look like you don't care, what's wrong? I didn't know the answer straight away because my head was telling me of course I care.
But this morning I have realised that I love the Bluebirds but I'm no longer in love with them or to put it more accurately I'm no longer in love with Dave Jones excuse for a Bluebirds team. What I now realise is that for the last few years it's like this mans involvement has been like a dripping tap and with each drip of the tap I have lost a bit of that passion, but this season it's almost as if someone has turned the tap on and right now all of my passion has gone.
This is a far cry from when I started watching the Bluebirds, Scoular was the manager, and it was his passion and that of his teams that was the foundation of building my passion for my club. This current manager and team are pale shadows in comparison.
Like many have said it is to late in the day to deal with DJ and imo there is only one way to deal with him, so we will have to let the wheels of fortune decide our fate and I hope to the bottom of my heart that ends in promotion. But I won't be around to see it whatever the outcome as I have decided I am not going to watch the Bluebirds or listen to a Bluebirds game again whilst DJ is at the club.
I will not be renewing my season ticket until this man has been removed from the club, Premier League Football or 5 year price freeze I just don't care. During the 80's I watched every game home and away during the Alan Durban years and even through 2 successive relegations I still watched every game so before anyone suggests I'm not a true fan I have been but right now as I say I'm no longer in love with this club, and Dave Jones is responsible for that.
So that's where I'm going from here on and I will not return until we have some passion at the head of this club, I will however still frequent this MB because this is about the only place you can find any real passion about our club.
If anyone could let me have TG email address I would be grateful because I would like to share the way I feel with him.
Anyway best of luck to the team and in particular to all of you I hope we do get promoted because you the fans deserve it.
Wed Mar 09, 2011 9:46 am
We were worse last night than against Ipswich, we didn't deserve to win, and as gutted as I am saying it, we don't deserve promotion if we keep playing so negatively. I didn't even think we looked threatening.
I'm keeping the faith, but my faith-bank is in the overdraft and the interest is killing me.

last 2 games and Forest away ( all without Rambo ) we still create chances BUT for reasons unknown to me we dont seem to be taking them ............. maybe our reserve strikers arnt putting enough pressure on the 1st team players ?? I kno we have NO reserve team but surely in training somebody must be banging them in ??
