The recent defeats may well have been exactly what we needed in a strange way. Ipswich ended a 10 match unbeaten run with a huge slice of luck amd momentary brilliance on Saturday, and a missed penalty on our behalf allowed Palace back in the game last night...where we couldve an shouldve gone on to win.
Now the reaction to these defeats will naturally cause a huge stir surrounding the club as we've seen already on this forum. However what we haven't acknowledged is the impact this will have on the team and more importantly the dressing room. The difference this year is we have some high profile personalities and winners in our dressing room this year - which is in stark contrast to our end of season capitulation witnessed in previous seasons.
I dont believe Mr Bellamy and co will settle for anything other than 7 or 8 wins in the run in now and following Bellamys and DJs blast at the squad this week (difference is this season DJ is in last chance saloon and his conscious of his legacy following a long tenure) the players out of fear will start a promotion clinching run this Sunday - and considering the teams around us will pinch points off each other in their respective run ins last nights result was a blessing in disguise imo.
