FSF film about safe standing..worth a look

The Football supporters Federation has been campaigning for safe standing for many years and have successfully got some politicians to now take up the cause...Michael Brunskill, a Sunderland fan and colleague of myself and Vince puts the FSF points across in the following video...it gives a view from both sides.

One thing that must be remembered is the fact that people who prefer to sit benefit more from safe standing than those that prefer to stand...this is proven in Germany where the only standing takes place in the huge safe standing areas leaving all those who prefer to sit free to do so....

i back the safe standing campaign but i can see it happening because the powers that be want football grounds to be like theaters

i did lol. did you see football focus a couple of months ago when they were discussing it mark "im not gay " lawrenson and dixon dissmissed it straight away. a lot of people in high places will have the same view...the tossers

I had a blog rant about this earlier to do with everyones atmosphere arguments about ccs. It's probably incoherent though.

I really hope this can get somewhere.
I still hate Don Foster for betraying the people who voted him in Bath (2 decent sized university means he probably got elected on the student Vote). However, the fact he is backing safe standing gives him some kind of credibility back.
Sadly, I fear it will just be brushed aside and ignored. As Masteg Blue said, they just ignored it right away on football focus, saying its an insult to hillsborough etc.

There is nothing i'd like more than the return of terracing.

Corky, Now the Welsh Assembly has its own policy making powers, could they not allow standing at football grounds in Wales through their own policies? Or is it an FA thing?

No mate the WElsh assembly have no power over football stadium regulations...we have to abide by the UK law on this

To me its all a joke its Health and safety gone mad. Was the terrace dangerous on the old Grange end and Bob Bank ? Of coarse it wasn't if managed correctly and common sense applied. Those monstrosities that they have in this so called safe standing is a health and safety overkill. But if that is the only way forward then so be it be it. The old style terrace was not ever dangerous just the clowns that was in charge of it just put someone in charge that has a brain.
