Eight more wins

Fri Feb 25, 2011 9:55 am

Back page of the echo.

Jay Bothroyd says Cardiff City have targeted eight more wins.

Do you think 8 more wins will be enough for promotion?

Can we win eight more games?

I think that with all the other teams around us playing each other, that 8 more win could be enough for a auto spot. Also looking at our fixtures we have a real good chance at getting them.

But we need to play our part and support the team. Loud and Proud :ayatollah:

Over to you then Jay, however, i personally feel it's going to be more like nine or ten wins for auto.

8 wins out of the last 13 games is definatley possible considering the run of fixtures we have coming up.

We have won 6 ofour last 13 games drawing 3 and losing 4 baring in mind we have played:
Watford home and away (who had won 5 on the bounce when they came to our place)
Leeds
Norwich
Reading
Swans
Burnley
Forest
Leicester (who had also won 5 on the bounce)

We only have to play 1 team in our final run of 13 games that is in the top 6 and thats QPR.

I believe we will definatley win atleast 8 games. However its not going to be a stroll in the park as the teams at the bottom will be playing for their lives to stay in the championship!!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

What is it 5 more homes games? I think we have enough form at home to win them all, I know qpr will be tough though.

After Hull, which I think ill be a draw. From our away games there are easily 4/5 winnable games. We should do it but we need to keep up the home form.

I feel this year, the points total of the 2nd placed team at the end will be the lowest ever. (hopefully lol) :ayatollah:

Preston away
Sheff Utd away
Crystal Palace away

3 out of the bottom 4 at the moment, they will need wins not draws like they did when they came to the CCS. So winnable in an open match.
3 wins = 9 points

Derby, Portsmouth, Barnsley ,Boro and Ipswich at home all winnable . 3 out of 5 will be mid table, so not a lot to play for.
4 wins 1 draw = 13 points

Doncaster away they could need points as the season goes on , so winnable in an open game.
3 points

Millwall away could be differcult , but were easily capable of taking a point at least, same Tomorrow in Hull.
2 draws 2 points

That leaves QPR at home and Burnley away.
Hopefully we will be promoted by the Burnley game? loss =0 points
If we are less than 2 points behind QPR when we play them , then what a game.
win 3 points
30 points total 88 for season ?
or i could be completely wrong :( but I dont think so, I'll think we'll go up as champions :D

i reckon we will need to win one more! ... i think someones gonna go on a big run and QPR are already 7pts ahead [6pts plus extra point for goals scored]

id rather play teams like hull than crystal palace as they are fighting for their lives and would give 110% when teams who are safe just plod along :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

8 more wins for what? Automatic?...Playoffs? If the teams above us also targeted 8 matches then we would have to settle for the playoffs. I think Jay would be better off targetting 8 games where he actually managed to stay on his feet.

I think 8 wins and a couple of draws would def do it let's just hope we can manage it :ayatollah:

Sometimes (well, often actually  ) it would be better if Jay shut his mouth and just got on with scoring the goals that will make it happen!!

Too many times have I read from (different) players how "We gonna do this" and "We're gonna do that" and "We owe the fans...." etc etc etc

TBH, I get tired of it. As the advert goes: JUSTDO IT....PREFERABLY ON THE PITCH!!

This is our chance to put a run together, definitely doable, we've got the squad, take it one game at a time.

If there is anything we have learnt, it is that the championship is the most unpredictable league in the UK. Especially this season, it really doesn't matter who we have left, iv'e tried following 'on paper' predictions but it has always blown up in my face. Knowing our luck it will be like playing the top 10 one after another. Lets just get it done!
