Remember him well, scored two goals in our last game of the 81/82 season, home to Luton T. We needed to win to stay up, but lost 2-3 & were relegated. I'm sure he came on as a second half sub when we were already two or three nil down, couldn't understand why he wasn't started for such an important game. Some things never change at City!

For the record, P. Kitchen played 72 league & cup games for City, scoring 22 goals.

Yes I remember him too, Richie Morgan who was the City manager at the time signed Kitchen from Fulham before the 80/81 season, he played and scored in that famous 3-3 draw at NP v the Jacks, he also scored a late header at the Vetch when we drew 1-1 in the return, the Jacks were division one (top-flight) bound by then. He netted 5 goals in one game, remember that? it was against Cardiff Corinthians in the Welsh cup! His first season with us he scored many an impotant goal, sadly he lost form midway through the following season and left to play for Orient. One game I remember (I did not go myself!) when City beat Cambridge Utd 5-4, City were 5-2 up at half-time! Gary (Basil) Stevens hit a hat-trick and Kitchen scored the other two.

I remember that Cambridge game well. At half time there was a tannoy announcement telling me to contact wife urgently.
Turned out she has bloody well locked herself out of house. Thought it was something important!
Didn't go home early though.Waited till end. remember that Gary Stephens scored a couple that day as well. Sweating a bit towards the end as Cambridge almost caught us.

Well i checked on the stats, but i remember the game well. Luton town got promoted as div 2 [old] champions, while we went in the other direction. Tarki Micallef scored the other goal, & after the final whistle was inconsolable, Len Ashurst had his arm around him walking off the pitch. I think this was also Kitchens last game for City.
