Have a wall around the bottom (3 feet high) get underfloor heating and a radiator fitted so it can be used all year round and get the exsisitng brickwork plastered so it doesn't end up looking like a lean-to, Leekes fitted ours 3 years back and we are more than happy.

for a 4m x 4m one you would be looking at around £5000 for the base, flooring .plastering ,etc and then another 5 to 6 grand for the conservartory.everest, leeks ,anglian ,would be looking at 20 grand plus for a 4mx4m.but it all depends on the make up of the ground.you save quite alot of money by getting the base, internal fit out done by a base laying team,ie the lads working for the firm doing it as a side job, then the firm putting up the conservatory,or your own base layer.if you want the number of a top guy who subs out to anglian, everest i can give it to you if you want it.

IMO, a waste of time mate - too cold to use in the winter and too hot in the summer. Spend a little more and have an extension.

Also, check with your local planning authority whether you'll need planning permission. Many people think that conservatories don't require consent, then the Council come knocking and the shit hits the fan.

Over the years i've probably built over a hundred bases for firms & also for myself. If you want a no obligation price for the base i'd be more than welcome to give you a quote & know of a very good fitter who'd price the actual conservatory.I'm a sole trader qualified bricklayer since 1987 & all work is direct with no sub contracting & middle men.Probably cuts the cost by half.
