I thought JET was unlucky to be taken off

Sat Feb 12, 2011 6:03 pm

He's a strong strong lad - he does so well in the build up & finishes with a shit ball

Parkin adds a different dimension - What I find frustrating with Bothroyd ( apart from being on his arse all the time) why does he keep drifting out to the wings ??

But we got the goal thats all that matters

i think that JET is very lucky to be starting ahead of burkey!

as much as a rate him running into a cul de sac and trying to get out by doing something fancy made him look average today.

JET was not very effective today IMO as he slowed play down by cutting back inside everytime we had a good break. We are best when playing quick passing football and he slowed it down giving Scunny time to get players behind ball and defend.
We were mush better with Burkey on , he is more direct, beats players and made more opportunities than anyone in game when he came on.BURKEY MUST START ON TUESDAY! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i thought he looked worn out, maybe a big bloke like him would be better off in defence

Sorry, can't believe the same game was watched.

JET wanted to showboat at times. Everytime the ball went to him, attacks slowed down.

It's telling the only time he attacked his fullback with pace was when the crowd were chanting for Burkie, who was just about to come on.

I thought jet did ok today and against Watford, I don't understand everyone calling to bring Burke on he's been poor for months though I thought he done better when he came on today, jet is going to be a big plus for us between now any the end of the season

ok so he can run in a straight line at pace with a ball.. josh low could do that!

i think we looked twice the team when burkey came on.( although i do wish he would spend an hour working on finishing!)

Well webber is not a bad judge of young players probably the best in the business and he rates jet very highly so do most arsenal fans, he boy is going to come good for us I reckon

Agree with that, Burkey should be starting for sure.

If I was burkey I'd feel hard done by having been left out. I thought JET was as much use as a chocolate tea cup for a long spell of the game, i don't know whether its match fitness or adapting to the Championship from the reserve league. Showed a lot of promise in his first game so the talent is there its just getting it consistently.

Jet is rubbish he should never start before Burke he never runs full pace against his left back for a big lad I haven't seen him win a header Burke was back to his best todayand changed the game when he came on jet reminds me so much of etuhu last season send him back to arsenal

Doesnt matter what we think-DJ picked a team today that won the match. 10 or 11 more and we are up.

I don't get JET at all. He's big, he's pacy and can obviously play, but he has one run per game at a defender and then spends the rest of it passing sideways - perhaps he should have gone to the Jacks because he isn't fitting in with our style of play and not showing any committment to the cause. I don't get this he can't get used to the Championship either - he spent last season on loan at Doncaster and Blackpool, so he is well versed on how this division works. Apparently DJ sees Burke as an impact player, surely it should be the other way around and Burke should start and JET come on when the defenders are knackered?

Bothroyd drifts too much away from the centre of the goal and so does Chopra - Hence we struggled today to score goals.

Jet = Etuhu imho.

Jet will be useful to us over the season.

Today he was poor one minute, quality the next... I guess that's why he is out on loan.

He (JET) will settle down and play a significant part in our push for glory....but with regards to being taken off that was DJ's tactical decision and, today at least, it was proved correct (same as Chopra and Bellamy) although Parkin might have taken some stick if the 'disallowed' goal had been our nemesis....

Why? Flag was up when Bothroyd touched the ball.

yup flag went up well before Parkin, I stayed seated while those around me celebrated, went up ages before it went into the net

I think JET is lazy, he doesnt do much, and un interested at times...maybe hes playing out of position i dont know, but id rather Burke playing there to be honest.

I agree looks like he cant be bothered. Burke by far the better player, defending or attacking Burke miles better.

Dont know if he is lazy, or just looks lazy?? (i suspect he thinks playing in Cardiff is below him.)
