What happens if it all goes pear shaped!

Fri Feb 11, 2011 3:25 pm

What happens if we fail. I don't like to think of the negatives, but last year, on the way to Wembley, I was so confident I was going to be coming home a fan of a premiership club! After the progress and the unbelievable and unexpected events and changes at the club, I wouldn't be able to bear the thoughts of not being promoted!

Hopefully it is our time especially with the crowds, the build up, the signings, and also about the league and the teams around us.

But what IF it all goes wrong, It is a possibilty, and Im sure it's something that has been discussed at the club at board room level.

Will we lose our Manager? probably, maybe, who knows. Will we lose players ? Bothroyd, Burke, Matthews, and then there's the loans - Bellamy? Will he want to go? or will his recent change of life style and everlasting knee problem, be enough to convince him to stay?

Olofinjana & Jet will also be going back to parent clubs regardless of what happens. Players will leave whether it be free transfers or through player sale, Maybe clubs being promoted from our league will want to snatch a few of our players to take with them?

What about the Malaysians (Tan and TG) will they stay for the fight?

Crowd levels WILL drop - it always happens! Call them Fickle fans, call them Glory hunters or whatever you like, but should we fail, then it will have a deteremental effect on the club in more ways than one!

Personally I see it as a shit or bust season, but I really believe that WE WILL gain promotion this season, but we have to look at the bigger picture and put it out there, as it is a possibilty and all things have to be considered and debated.

I just hope & prey that THIS is the season that the so called Sleeping Giant awakes :ayatollah:

I'm anticipating failure so that I'm not devastated if it does happen and then if we are promoted it's even more glorious! No matter what we'll carry on! :ayatollah:

It would be hard to match last season for going pear shaped, after the final I was lower than a snakes belly had no enthusiasm for the coming season.

The Malaysians coming on board whetted my appetite slightly and getting rid if Ridsdale helped, but the icing on the cake was the signing of Bellamey.

Dreading failure at the final hurdle this year, but after last years recovery I will always keep hoping, and after all said and done after watching them for 44 years If I can stick with them thru some of the things I've seen, I'm sure with my little pick and shovel, I'll be there again. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old:

As fans we always carry on, but as a club - who knows what trap doors will open! I just want the players and staff including the manager to know and see that we really have to put the biggest effort in now to get as many points as we can, and personally, if we can play as tidy as we did against Swansea last week, we will show enough character and passion to reach the final step this time around. :D

But those nasty thoughts always remain at the back of my mind!

i honestly think if we get promoted or not the malaysians will be here for a few years as cardiff city are more than just a football club to them and they can see the big picture and will use cardiff city for other reasons benificial to them so i think promotion or not we will be ok..
hold on and enjoy the ride :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I hope that we dont fail again no good on my :old: heart,we really need the money to sort out our debts. But on a positive side playing in the championship with 23 home games is not to bad.Unless your a glory fan we will still be here watching the boys play whatever division we are in.Be positive ONWARDS AND UPWARDS. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: Bluebirdrob

We keep calm and carry on, that's what we do.

Cardiff City have been in far, FAR worse positions than this with worse players, worse managers and worse chairmen, but we've all stuck with them and, at least on this board, I know we all will. Preaching to the converted really.

Let's just enjoy it.

I think the more pertinent question is actually "What happens if we do get promoted?" because that's more unsual than us not getting promoted!

Another worry is the value of the team if we dont go up. Withall the bosmans and loans the remainder cant be worth more than 10 million - not even enough to pay VT back!

Crowds will drop but I dont think they will massively if the club keep pushing these season tickets as they have been.

I squad was pretty bare after last season so im not concerned about that, a good manager can bring in free's and loans just like we have this season.

I do not believe for a minute that this season will go pear-shaped but if it does I know from personal experience with working with Malay Chinese that they will not quit, they are in for the long haul. So, CCFC fans, be prepared for the scenario that once we get to the Premeir League we will be sold to a Mainland Chinese, Indian or Arab company. Though as far as the fans are concerned everything will stay the same. :?:

THIS MONTH AND NEXT MONTH WILL BE THE DECIDER AS CLUBS WILL SLIP AWAY AND 1-4 CLUBS WILL BE FIGHTING FOR AUTOMATIC PROMOTION AND HOPEFULLY WE'LL BE IN THAT,I CAN'T FACE WEMBLEY AGAIN :(

I'LL BE MORE NERVOUS THAN LAST YEAR ESPECIALLY IF ITS VS SWANSEA
