Stadium Naming Rights.

I was wondering what the annual income would be for the Stadium Naming Rights....I understand by Carls updates that the Initial fee is £5 million, but what would the cost be to the sponsor be per annum after that, or does the £5 million come with a fixed term :? :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

In all honesty Marc the Stadium Naming Rights has been one big gray area from day one. I don't think any of us really understand how they are valued at £5m never mind the original £9m.

From what I remember I think Liberty (whoever they are) paid something like £250,000 for naming rights on Gypo Stadium.

Liberty are a property company in which I think Scott Gibbs used to have an involvement (he may not now he is South Africa based).

Marc - there is no "initial fee" as such. Just some marketing firm allocated a potential total value for them over an undefined number of years for the purposes of putting them in as part of an agreement.

In reality , there would not be much hope of getting £5m or £9m for those rights. The SWALEC stadium got £1m for a 10 year deal. O.K. its only cricket , but a Test ground that gets plenty of t.v.and other media coverage for any sponsor.

Whatever the rights are sold for, £1m or £1, that`s all Langston would get and the club doesn`t have to find the money from its own resources anyway - the sponsor does.
