Deby fans arrested and banned

Am i reading this correctly or did our guys get locked up for doing less???

Thats unreal,the lad had previous for footy related incident served a ban,comes back hits a guy outside the ground,gets charged with affray and get another ban,cardiff lads done nothing in comparison to that,if any of the lads are appealing i would use this case as an example of how corrupt the system and sentencing are towards cardiff city,there should be set sentencing regarding what degree of violence was used.At worst our lot should of been banned(they would of accepted that),not 16 months in prison,thats the system discriminating against the clubs past bad name

Guppy, Corky feels that the Home office got involved in the Cardiff/Chelsea cases and made Sure that Cardiff Fans were Sentenced heavily or in My Opinion well and Truly over the top Sentences. There is Def something behind all this.

The powers that be have defo gone over board here. Was it because it happened in their beloved capital in a supposedly nice area. Was it because it was Cardiff fans? Was it because the Met police got embarressed on their policing and a lot of public saw this for themselves , therefore the judge gave over the top sentences to ease the public mind on football hooliganism and how it wont be tolerated. In my opinion it still goes on , of course it does but not on a level of the 70's and 80 and early 90's. Its getting ridiculous now theres more coppers at games than fans sometimes. The sentences imposed are a joke , and if i was the lads i would appeal on this case alone. Good luck

Yes of course, I take it they had been sentenced the same harness.

prob cause it was cardiff and chelsea.......... ppl hate both with a passion, imo this is just the start, i think any chance they get to lock up cardiff boys they will take....... god help us when we go up to the premier league......chelsea, liverpool, stoke, man utd etc.....

whatever happened to the people that threw bottles and fireworks at us earlier in the season at QPR........ what would have happened if that was in cardiff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the cardiff lads appeal, im shure the solicitors have seen whats gone on, that they are being made an unfair example of and advised them to appeal, not only might they get there sentenced reduced, they will also highlight how cardiff fans are being singled out for unfair and over the top treatment

The problem you have with an appeal is that your normaly out of nick before it comes through.Evan if your found not guilty you wont get compensation you will get conviction quashed and banning order lifted thats all. Trust me i know.

couldnt there solicitorr ask for for them to be released pending apeal? Sorry, im not that clued up with how it all works, just thought they might be able to aply for bail pending an apeal!

In some cases yes but would have to be very strong evidence to back it up and be worth it.You no what they say about tax payers money

Have the Chelsea Lads involved been sentenced yet and if so did they get similar sentences? As i understand it some of our fans were convicted just for being in the area where the trouble took place this being the case Mariner and a couple of other faces were there have they been charged with any offences?

One of the basic principles of law is that it should be applied equally this does not seem to apply to Football fans and Cardiff Fans in particular
