I allways like the Villa v Brum
Mon Feb 07, 2011 6:34 pm
I'll say Birmingham vs Aston Villa. The derbies in England aren't really that hostile though compared to others around the world so it's a case of picking the best from a dull bunch.

not as friendly as people think, 2 everton fans were beaten unconcious at the recent derby.

Aye, Wet Sham v Millwall, Villa - Blues.
The Steel City derby often gets overlooked because it's not been played in the higher leagues for a couple of decades now but it's every bit as tasty on and off the pitch as ours. Great fun to be up here on derby day.

I've been virtually to every Derby game in England/Wales.
Went to Celtic/Rangers last year No where near what it use to be for Atmosphere.
Been to All the Midlands ones. Best one there Wolves/WBA in my Opinion.
Millwall /Westham been to them at Both Grounds Hostile and Evil.
Newcastle/Sunderland Amazing Atmosphere.
Chelsea/Westham/Spurs/Millwall/Arsenal etc In the 80s AMAZING Now, there ok.
Spurs/Arsenal Great in the Ground out in the Streets becoming best mates.
Our Derby Going down hill for Atmosphere at Our Ground Fast, Still good at the Jacks, its the Only Derby as well as Newcastle/Sunderland that fans cant walk in the same streets ANYWHERE.

I,ve often wondered what,s it like to live in the same city as your rivals, as Swansea are 40 miles from us, we dont come into contact with them on a day to day basis (luckily)

But something like the Sheffield derby you all live within a small radius of each other, bet its pretty lively in the City centre on a Saturday night !!!

Not mainland Britain, but would love to see the Belfast derby - Glentoran and Linfield. Used to get class crowds(considering the league) and great atmosphere. I don't know if its still like that though.
The atmosphere yesterday was good, the home match was embaressing

been to a couple of derby games, my fav is our derby with them inbreads down the M4...
Old Firm Derby @ Celtic; been there in the mid 90s, very tasty and amazing atmosphere. you could smell and feel the hatred between the big 2 in scotland.
Edinburgh Derby @ Hearts; not as good as the old Firm but still very intense... very tense outside the ground, no open fighting but lots of coppers on the streets...
Dunfermline v Falkirk Derby; didnt expect it to be massive, but it really was. those 2 absolutely dislike each other, good atmosphere at East End Park
Wrexham v Shrewsbury; Shrewsbury were a joke at the Racecourse. Good turnout by the Wrecsam lads and Shrews brought just 200 fans in total...
SheffUtd v Leeds; the most boring derby game i have ever been to... driving up to Wigan watching the City, a mate of mine and I decided to attend this "big" game between the 2 best yorkshire sides... Blades winning 4:1 and they couldnt be bothered to sing and celebrate. Honestly, Leeds was dominating the atmosphere throughout the game, biggest SheffU cheer was at halftime, when Captn Blade walked onto the pitch....pathetic
Stoke v Derby; stopped on my way back from Wigan (with Cardiff) at Stoke. Happy that I made that one, we sat in the stoke section and the atmosphere was superb. Stoke winning in the dying seconds, much more intense than the sheffutd v leeds rivalry...
Chelsea v Arsenal; enjoyed that game of football, prob one of the best matches I have ever seen live, but the most boring crowds that you could get. Arsenal not very active (winning the game tho) and Chelsea just had one chant... no passion at all at the Bridge, but a classy game of football with the likes of Bergkamp, Lehmann, Henry, Drogba, Viera, Edu, Duff, Lampard, Terry etc
