my humble view on last night.

Wed Feb 02, 2011 12:17 pm

I think the competition for a midfield spot may be the best thing for whitts,I thought he did well last night, put in a half decent shift.

Jay and jet.. No thanks! chops proved within seconds that he is a nuisance, cant drop him! jay is wasted on the right as he was lots last night.

rambo - awesome, but i fear a massive hole to fill if/when he goes back.

hudson is quality i hated him but i was wrong. but the best CB we have at the club is KEV.. nailed on for player of thr year in my eyes!

bellers had his best game for us..

as for naylor... works hard but doesnt cut it! while i think that anybody that boo's one of our own are retards.. i can see the frustration! what i would have given for an ian harte last night.

yeah I was there , I saw the game and I was on my feet when he tracked 60 yards back and was the last man at one point.

or is that not working hard enough?

To be fair, apart from Naylor, he was the furthest player back at that point and even then his positioning was abysmal and Hudson had to hack their man down because the two players Naylor and Whitts were meant to be marking were breaking free too easily. In his most biased defence, even then, that was the only bit of defensive play he did. He did play a couple of decent balls again but to be honest for me that's not good enough to cut it in a team pushing for the Premiership.

He was woeful in the first half but a bit better in the second half.

individually i dont think there was much of a problem performance wise.. obviously not naylor tho.

we played reading who are a good good side, who wont be far off the top 6 in may.

my main issue is that while loan players are quality, they didnt gel and the tatics are all wrong.

Oh and i was judging whitts by previous performances when he was shocking..

whittingham was rubbish once again. shit out of tackles on many of occasions and my gran would have got a better passing ratio than him lastnight..
the team has carried a poor whittingham for a few games now..

I actually thought Whitts had an excellent second half and was throwing himself into tackles! His passing range is the best in the division!! How can you drop him and for who??

whitts is gutless in a battle gets shoved off the ball to easy cant be carried hoping he makes a couple telling passes

I thought Whitts was alright last night until a few stupid lapses towards the end. Brilliant player for the most part though, he does a lot that goes unnoticed in my opinion. I wouldn't say they is the best tackling, but some of the passes he makes are second to none!! There isn't another player on our side who can pick out passes like Whittingham does!

I agree. 1st half he struggled but second half he got stuck in, his passing was a threat throughout, strange how we all have different views of certain players :) :ayatollah:
