PROBLEM WITH FOOTBALL IN THE FUTURE!

Thu Jan 20, 2011 10:09 pm

Im studying to become a teacher as some of you may know, and this term we are doing PE teacher training.

The 3 aspects of PE that you are taught as a trainee teacher are: Dance, Gymnastics and Games (Hockey and Netball)

So i asked the question why are we not taugh how to teach Football and Rugby etc? The teacher who is female ignored my question and moved on.

So it got me thinking, Why don't universities teach trainee teachers football and rugby, but they teach us how to dance and do gymnastics?

Is it because the majority of teachers are female?

But if the children in schools are not being taugh Football at a correct level then how can you expect children to enjoy football and in the future become professional players!

What your thoughts? :ayatollah:
