I Am Proud To Have Craig Bellamy As Our Captain

And the reason is the wonderful work he has undertaken with his Foundation in Sierra Leone

Craig started this foundation with his own money and at a time where people say there is no loyalty in football and that players are only interested in money, IMO with his work on this foundation Craig Bellamy has set a remarkable example that others would do well to follow.

Whatever you think of Craig and many would agree at times he could start an argument in an empty room his desire to help others clearly demonstrates there is far more to him than that we see everyday. Whatever the rights or wrongs of that nonsense last week it was in reality something which happens countless times every weekend in towns and cities throughout the UK. Does it make it acceptable, of course not, but it has only made the headlines because Craig was involved.

I wanted to post this last week but unfortunately for some it had become a highly emotive issue so I thought it best to wait for a more appropriate moment.

In a time where FIFA award World Cup Finals on the basis of the legacy the tournament will leave on the host country our club captain, through his own personal funding, will be leaving a legacy for the children of Seirra Leone. In the future when people read about Craig it will show Cardiff City as one of his ex clubs it will also show his work on this foundation, this will only serve to enhance the reputation of our club rather than tarnish the image as some were suggesting last week.

I have left a donation to his foundation and I am glad to do it and if anyone feels the same please use the link and help Craig with his foundation work. He is trying to raise £16,000 this year and to date it has reached £2,000 so he needs some help, if you can afford to help and you think it's a good cause please send him a few quid.

As I said I am proud that our Captain has it in him to find a way to help others who a worse off than ourselves, WELL DONE CRAIG.
