Looks Like weve Been Sold False Promise Yet Again

DJ will be backed in his bid for promotion in the January transfer window.

I beg to differ, this clubs management shows its true colours once again. Fur coat and no knickers.

DJ wanted Routledge, we needed a player of his skill and speed and crossing ability, but yet again the 'ambitious' new owners dont really want to put their hands too deep in to the pocket, so our manager is yet again looking for the yellow reduced price tags on broken and out of date goods.

Forget Gabiddon, Loovens etc, if they cant shine for WHU and Celtic (yes the team that play week in week out against poor opposition) what chance have they here?

The owners may have changed but its the same old Cardiff City.

Jones has brought some decent players down from the SPL , yes 1 or 2 seen better days but they done ok . Burke took 2 seasons to shine and Mc Cormack was an instant hit and Thommo did a good job IMO . Got another cpl of weeks til the window closes so lets wait n see ! :ayatollah:

I agree and I'd love to be proved wrong, but in order to compete with teams like QPR the management need to be a bit more creative about moving forward.

True and we defo need a younger faster centre half to play along side Hudson , somebody like Gabbidon was or indeed Gary Bennett many years ago . Its funny how defence can turn into attack with a quick break from a fast defender ?

i still stand by the board and think that if theright player came along they would be more willing to put more money up....

routledge and vaughan are not players that are urgent however a CB is. the board are not going to chuck big money up for routledge but i think they will if the right CB comes along. i think it shows with the contract offer we gave o'brein, which i hear was very very good.

were only half way through january and the fun wont begin until the 25th onwards :)

McNaughton and Hudson seem to be a decent pairing but are we missing out on McNaughtons attacking abilities when he is stuck at CB?

Naylor & Quinn at full back is a weakness offensively.

Burke & Matthews had a good relationship in thepast - Jones though won't trust Matthews. Its not as though our present full backs stop crosses coming in - take Norwich's goal - acres of space to cross, and where was Naylor at far post?

For me the lack of pace in midfield is a real problem - the midfield go sideways rather than steaming up field.

Have to be at their attacking best to beat Watford. 3 goals may not be enough

I still don't understand how throwing £2m away on Wayne Routledge is supposed to garantee us promotion? At that price its a very bad deal and I think VT is acting responsibley in refusing to pay it.

Burke didn't take 2 seasons to shine. He started playing well last season after settling in in the latter hald of the season before that.

Don't think VT even knows who routledge is!!! He's obviously taking advice from someone then?

Which is the problem.

When people clueless about football are advised solely by the manager, it gives the manager way too much power and makes it more difficult to remoe them.

I dont think the "owners" have ever said they would spend in Jan?
The line they have always come out with is we have tough and testing times ahead but that we will work through them.

Are you sure the club promised money for transfers ?
I can only recall seeing it on this message board.
You should also remember that the Malaysians have also pumped millions into this club to keep us afloat.

To be fair, clubs don't normally get very good "value" in the transfer market in January, but I think DJ has already bucked that trend with Parkin. Preston fans must have been pig sick seeing Saturday's goal ripping into the back of the net!
