Where do you reckon we'd be now??
I reckon we'd be in divsion 2. maybe confrence, we certinaly wouldn't have been to wembley, had big money owners etc, just remember, sam started us off, got us noticed and played a massive hand on where we are today
I know as a team/club, we needed a new stadium "to move on with the times", 23k a week etc to "progress" , but i was happy going to ninian park, being apart of a unique fans group (kids in school who supported prem clubs called it "cardiff shitty why dont you support a prem side" who now proclaim to be cardiff city fans), going through the turnstyles, getting a pie and standing on the terraces, i was always there a hour before kick off to watch tem train, soak up the terraces, see the old same faces who stood around you, that was cardiff city i once knew
If im honest, and selfish, id love to go back to them days
premiership or back to ninian park? Ninian would win all day for me
r.i.p

I agree Ben, I think we would be bouncing around the bottom 2 divisions, and like you say, they were great times
There is a chance that maybe someone else would have come in for us though, as I think Cardiff as a City has changed a lot in that last decade or so. Having the FA Cup, League Cup and play offs, here, helped pushed the city forward.
The only thing, we know for sure, is that he did come and buy us, gave us the dream and we are begining to realise that dream. So for that, I am thankful to him.

Funny isn't it. We spent years dreaming of a new stadium and top flight football. And as soon as we're on the verge of it, everyone starts moaning that the days of div 3 are better.
I've been a City fan since the late nineties and remember the days of 3,000 crowds. But I prefer the new stadium. On its day, the new stadium has a better atmosphere than Ninian Park. Leicester league and play off aswell as Swansea last year proves it. Its also a bonus not having to queue 10 minutes to use the 'toilet', the soggy chips soaked in grease, not being able to see half of the game on the bob bank and ALWAYS standing in the puddle on the terrace.
If the atmosphere was more consistent, I think the new stadium would be perfect.
And if Sam Hammam hadn't taken over us. The answer is simple. We wouldn't be in debt. Stoke, Wigan, Swansea, Hull, Portsmouth, Blackpool, QPR were in the lower leagues with us. And look at them now. I think we'd still be in the championship.

Not moaning, just remembering!
Alot of us wern't dreaming of a new stadium
leciester atmsophere was only down to what was at stake! people's emotions were all over the shop, you'll never beat the atmosphere at ninian, all fans from around the country will tell you that ,like they do when they leave thier old grounds
Its also a bonus not having to queue 10 minutes to use the 'toilet', the soggy chips soaked in grease, not being able to see half of the game on the bob bank and ALWAYS standing in the puddle on the terrace.
but that is what made mine and alot of city/football fans saturdays, that was apart of football and our club, the old days were the best days!!! being a new fan from the playoff final or f.a cup doesn't mean as much to the ones who were there before, ninian park was our home, our staurdays, our day out, it was like a family member, those will never experiance that feeling, they just want to see big games, new stadiums, big name players etc, ive never supported anyone apart from cardiff so maybe thats why

Without getting into another 'Sam Hammam love-in, who knows? We might be in the Conference, we might be in the Premiership. Someone else may have come in instead of Hammam and taken us further, you really never can tell what could have been

Yeah but Ben, you didn't have to sit on those toilets
I did love Ninian Park, and I'll always remember those times fondly. But its time for us all to move on

As much as i feel that Sam should not return i will always give him the credit for rescuing us from the doldrums. God knows where we would be today without him. He made plenty of mistakes, and almost took the club under himself but his fire, passion and ambition put us back on the map.

i did have to once, it was a exeperiance, after i cleaned the tobacco, rizla, fag ends, piss, shit and the "talcum powder "

Without Hammam we could quite possibly be on the verge of premiership football, with a new stadium and academy but without the debt. Check out how the Jacks did it down the road.
We should never ever let Hammam anywhere near our club again. The man is an egotistical, deranged bully who is incapable of running a modern football club. He is also a crap administrator. Just ask the councillors at City Hall who are still laughing at his 'back of fag packet' stadium plans. Thank feck PMG booted him out and got the stadium built for us.

No plays off no FA Cup win over Leeds No first place in the championship no decent football to watch or decent young players coming through possibly no club... and watching swansea going onwards and upwards and that would boil my piss alot more other teams shirts in the city centre... got a lot to be thankful however it did cost us was it worth?.... f**k yes its been f*cking awesome

I think fans anger & disappointment of SH has over shadowed his achievement at CCFC, we simply would not be where we are today if not for Sam.

And everyone one of those teams had new owners some were successful wigan (sugar daddy owner) Swansea (council owed Pitch) Blackpool well they got a very good manager QPR( sugar daddy investors) Stoke (who knows apparently they have huge debts but try to keep a tight ship) other a diaster portsmouth (well documented) Hull (nearly went bust).... without someone putting money in or loaning they would have all be kept in the lower leagues its money thats made the difference..apart from blackpool

The Jacks are doing well, but they have gone under, paying pennies in the pound back to creditors, they have no Academy and dont own their stadium.
In truth, nobody knows what would have happend to us. But lets just be grateful that somthing did.

wouldn't be in debt are you real
when sam took over we had just been relegated in debt without a pot to piss in and we had shit crowds without sam taking over we would have been facing a future in the confence
your quick enough to name the sides who have done well but there are many clubs who have gone out of the league and i think the way we were going it would have been more likly we would have ended up there
