What is a football fan ?
What makes them stand out ?
To me they love their team
Their loyalty is never in doubt.

They stick with their club always
Even when the chips are down
The true fan keeps on going
When the rest are wearing a frown.

Do they throw the towel in
And decide to stay away ?
No, you can always be sure
They'll be there come Saturday.

Yes they have a moan and groan
And sometimes question their loyalty
But they will always keep turning up
Because it's where they want to be.

Their team could be a Premier League side
Or play in a division much lower down
But it doesn't matter who the club is
Be it Arsenal, Chelsea, or Crawley Town.

Don't ever ridicule the team they support
Just because they're not a big name
Remember it's not just the big clubs
Who make up the Beautiful Game.

So let's applaud all these true fans
Who are there through thick and thin
They will always keep supporting their club
Even when they never get a win !
