holidays for miners kids during strike

did anyone else go on a free holiday if yes where did you go?

i went to rottingdean nr brighton for 2 weeks
and kristiansand in norway for 2 weeks

it was a nice village but boring for 12/13yr olds it made cwmaman look like euro disney
the place we stayed in was owned and had something to do with sogat not sure what they were maybe media or something to do with newspapers.
all i remember of the place was some police turned up telling the the people who took us that some dangerous guy was on the run and to keep us close to the complex and not to leave us out of sight. they eventually found the guy hiding on a mountain in a windmill
and a large pub carpark which we had to pass a few times a day was always packed with rough looking bikers who just spat and verbally abused us for being welsh
and the miners thought they had it hard they should have tried the holidays
