How did football firms get their names ?

Thu Jan 06, 2011 6:16 pm

I lived in Leicester for a while, and used to watch them if City weren't playing in the midlands.
Leicesters old firm I believe was the CS Army but the 80s lot were called the Baby Squad - they got their named and form when a mob of Leeds confronted Leicester who all ran except some young lads who stood and got a beating, but were called the Baby Squad after that because of their age.

Anymore ?

P.S. I 've trademarked this idea in case a certain author gets another idea for a book :P

Millwall bushwhackers were named after their leader one day hit his mrs in the fanny with a bat.

Pompeys 657 crew were called that because 6 5 and 7 were the ages of their three top lads.

Thaught ICF stood for Ice Cream Firm. When Manure Men In Black fans ran West Ham they all ran off for an Ice Cream.
