I'd go with that line up, we need to rest players after all those xmas games. Besides our bench need a game.

Think i would have to go for this team aswell. I know lwague is priority but i want to see us do well in every game we play and dont want to watch us get smashed. The league was our priority last year but we fielded our strongest squad against chelsea.

What team do you think Stoke will put out?
Do you think they will rest anyone and give the young lads a run out or as Pulis being a Newport boy do you think he will put his strongest team out to get one over on us ?

-Matthews-------Hudson------McNaughton------Naylor-
-Burke-----------McPhail---------Wildig--------Koumas-
----------------------Chopra----Parkin--------------------

Naylor played well yesterday so should be kept in the team to keep his confidence high.

Burke should play again to try and put last nights average performance behind him.

Chopra should play again as he scored his first goal in a while last night and his confidence will be sky high.

Parkin to make debut.

Matthews to be given a run.

Keep the Hudson and McNaughton partnership together because I think Geypes might have been sold, not even on the bench yesterday.

Give McPhail a game to be our main play maker.

Koumas needs playing time, he has had what? 2 starts and a few 10mins at the end of games so far and thats not enough when he's been out for so long.

Wildig a chance to see what level he is at.

I would like to see us use this as a chance to gain players' confidence back and try some new things. This is a 'freebie' game in my eyes. Not a match to throw away but a game to test players in new positions and get players motivated again.

I'd start with the following line up...

GK: Heaton - have some stability, after his performance against Leeds he deserves to stay in.
DR: Quinn - gain some more match fitness and he did well.
DL: Naylor - last chance saloon kind of scenario. Say to him if he wants it this is his game to prove it.
DC: Hudson - stability.
DC: McNaughton - stability.
MR: Matthews - try him in an attacking position. Burke has been getting injured/ ill quite a lot these past 12 months so would be nice to have a good cover and see the resurgence of Matthews.
ML: Whittingham - see how he can do out wide again.
MC: McPhail - get the ball moving on the floor.
MC: Koumas - play him as the creative engine in central midfield that we know is his best position yet for some reason has barely had a chance there in a 4-4-2 since he re-joined.
FC: Keogh - playing well so deserves it.
FC: Parkin - if he's fit, if not Chopra.

So yeah, I'd rest key players like Oli, Bellamy, Bothroyd and Chopra but would still have them on the bench and put out a team I felt could get a win plus giving some players an opportunity to prove themselves.
