He did use us, yes. But if you read his philosophy on signing contracts, he says that if a club you're at is willing to renew/extend your contract (or buy him in this case) then you should take it, which is what he did.

At least none of his deal ended up in the hands of parasitical agents and he should take some credit for that. I guess by finding out what we had to offer and going back to Leeds to see if they could match that, he was only doing what most agents would do anyway.
