What manager would come in and want to do everything that DJ has to do at our club? Is it good for a manager to have that much power or is it added pressure that isn't needed?

That will be a couple of weeks then Annis with the little cusion we have
Silly if it's called that way...Those days could make all the difference to a new man

i think the players will rally round for the next couple of games to try and save his baconthen slump again its been pretty much a routine thing over the last six years same old same old get him out ASAP
Sun Jan 02, 2011 2:20 pm
Maybe it's wrong to sack him at the start of a transfer window where he has one last oppurtunity to bring in new players and turn it around for us. Then again, would the board want to bring in an experienced manager who would would be able to sign top class players and push on with new ideas
Sun Jan 02, 2011 2:21 pm
Get him out now. No point in hanging around. He's completely lost whatever he had (not very much IMO).

Nah. He was backed in the summer. He got the players he wanted in, including
Naylor
Koumas
Riggott
He got rid of Gerrard and kept Hudson
In my opinion he's had his chance and blown it.

Of course they won't sack him. We were 2nd at the end of the year, and that was a pre-agreed criteria for him staying and getting back up in the new year.
The trouble with your 'opinion', is that we can go out of the top 6 at any time from next week until the last week of the season. Any manager coming in then will have an enormous task to get us promoted.
The Malaysians' millions are melting away as the hours drift on. I'm afraid Jones will see to that.

One of 2 things I reckon:
1. They will sack him today
2. They will wait until after the Leeds game, we lose he is out, we draw or win they will most likely have another meeting.
Sun Jan 02, 2011 3:13 pm
wasnt he givena couple of games toturnthings around under the fiddler/??
Sun Jan 02, 2011 3:16 pm
yep and we didnt go up then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sun Jan 02, 2011 3:26 pm
I hope not, our league position is irrelevant its the last 2 months results thats count. Our current league position is more due to poor quality teams around us and thats got nothing to do with Dave Jones. As stated in other replies it wont be long before we drop out of the top six anyway on this run of form, this cant be a blip anymore it gone on too long.

well our next 3 league games are Leeds,Norwich and Watford! not good times ahead...but if we win those 3 everyone will shut up

if we have any aspiration to attain promotion then we must change manager now!!! If the Malaysians wait until we are outside the top 6 we just as well write this season off because a new manager won't have the time and wont have his own players in place to be able to turn things around quickly enough. In my view the Malaysians have done everything right up to now, I hope they have the courage to do the right thing now.
Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:24 pm
they need to sack him NOW otherwise its not gonna chance anything. new manager will have time to bring his targets jada jada, now DJ will bring his old wooden friends and keep losing
Sun Jan 02, 2011 4:53 pm
with the team we got, the way we know they can play, the quality of the other teams in this league we should now be maybe 20 - 25 points clear of the likes of swansea, leeds even QPR........ Jones has had long enough
SACK HIM NOW, put a caretaker manager in place till end of season then get a manager in who has abit of fire in his belly

People who think Gerrard is better than Hudson make me facepalm.

wouldnt mind if gerrard was still here at least we wouldnt have a shortage of defenders and imo hes better than darcy

I wouldn't have minded if Gerrard was sensible enough to stay fit.

Good Debate
Sun Jan 02, 2011 7:33 pm
trouble is by then Burnley will have big Sam and other clubs will have someone else and we will end up falling down the league.
Maybe just maybe Jones will realise that he will get sacked if they do not improve so he may turn it around a bit however I think Jones thinks he is higher than the club and untouchable so who knows

He was, but i think that was a farce. PR never had any intention of replacing DJ, imho, after all, it was he who sanctioned DJ's ridiculouse rolling contract.
