"The best Manager we have ever had"

This is what many of my friends have been telling me for years due to my dislike of Jones.

My dislike of Jones is not personal but more of a dislike of his management style / ability.

Yes he did a remarkable job when we signed for us to keep us going with shrewd players sales / signings etc... Yes he delivered an FA cup final and a Play off final, Yes he has got the best out of Bothroyd and other players... but I still dislike the way he conducts himself and the way he disresects the fans.

I would though be willing to just accept those things if he actually delivered something tangiable... while it was a great achievement to get to the FA cup final we COULD have beat portsmouth with some positive tactics... Play-off final.. same thing.. we let maginnis go on a free transfer a few days before the final so when Bothroyd went off we stuck a poor young winger up front to do the job of a target man... we played the wrong central defence partnership PLUS Jones never addressed the midfield tactics where Blackpool cut through us far too easily.

Add to that the catalouge of poor performances against Swansea "just another game" City or in fact most teams who play 5 in midfield PLUS the fact Jones sticks with poor performers (costing us points) when everyone can see they are not up-to-it and I am just left with a feeling that he can never take us on a run to push on and make the top two this season.

I was willing to give him until the end of the season but I am not sure that he deserves it, especially with the resources he has available to him. Parkin may be ok but it's hardly a signing which inspires confidence for premier league amitions.

hmmmmm i would say fred stewart would give him a run for his money 2 fa cup finals 1 win, 2 quarter finals, 1 semi final runners up in the league on points difference and all with no money to spend. we have got a history past the last 20 years or so

Frankie Burrows

Well Jonesy may not've been the best manager we ever had but if he leaves I'd like to thanks him for what hes done at the club

Fred Stewart, Cyril Spiers, Jimmy Scoular, Len Ashurst, Eddie May and Frank Burrows were all better than Jones!

Best i've seen since supporting the City are Scoular, Jones & Andrews in that order. I thought Burrows, Ashurst & lawrence were ok, the rest i thought were dross.
