The other board

Sun Jan 02, 2011 12:40 pm

Why do members of the other board treat this one like a different football club?
It's quite sad how they get off when information posted does not turn out to be 100% accurate.

Especially when "information" they post tends to be less accurate.

I post on both mate and enjoy the banter on both. Ironically since boxing day my posts have gone up by over 500 between the two boards. Good debate on here and arguments over there. I tend to find there is more info on this board as well whilst over there it is full of pee-takers and argumentative teenagers.

But carl doesn't state the information cannot be passed on over there, so why not copy and paste and then they can share info. It's not like Annis uses the information to get people over here, he uses the interviews or question times with former players etc to promote this board.

It like a youth club trying to be better than the main pub when they could just concentrate on supporting Cardiff city instead

I post on both boards and tbf there are dickheads on both.

I cant understand personal attacks at all, especially when posters dont even know the individuals they are attacking.

At the end of the day we all support the same club.

All this camp, catty bitchiness is ridiculous.

It's all healthy debate and the sniping usually comes from those who feel their position as king of their hill is being threatened.

I don't like CCMB and the last time I visited it was over 4 months ago.

However, some prefer that board and in fairness it has been around for years and built up quite a following.

That said nothing kills threads quicker than 2 posters getting into an argument with each other and trading personal insults. I have no idea why it is so important for them to keep on doing it for page after page when no-one but them will ever read the posts.

What I notice on here is many posters simply don't rise to the bait. They give one reply at most pointing out the snipe and move on. That way the thread doesn't get ruined and we can all enjoy debating.

That is probably due to the greater use of the PM system on here where anyone who takes offence tends to PM the other user to sort out their differences.

I just think it's sad when one follower of Cardiff City get soff over another follower trying to be helpful and getting information slightly wrong when 80% of the time they are bang on. just smacks of jealousy and insecurity to me

Fans often forget that message boards are places where we can post our opinions. Nearly all those opinions will be guesses and I can remember flipping through some of my old posting and finding I had an accuracy rate of about 20%

But in my defence seeing as my guesses were made without inside information that is probably quite a high score and probably around where everyone else is.

Carl posts his updates in good faith, it is never his intention to mislead anyone. Sometimes things change after his postings and too be fair he does sometimes make it clear that the information he is posting has not been confirmed.

Tony, sometimes I am in no win situation, I get given the info but nearly always am held to secrecy as to who is telling me. It is extremely frustrating when you are told something that either people don't believe or they try to piss take but if they were aware of where the info had come from then there would be no doubting.

I can only post what I am told and if it comes from a source that I have not spoken with before or I suspect the info could be not 100% I will always try to confirm it.

For the matter of interest I do find comments like ' he writes everything he is given, no matter how damaging ' very offensive. There are certain issues and situations I have not wrote about because it could really upset the applecart.

Also, any information I receive comes from many sources from different areas and there is not a single source as I am sure that must come across in the updates by the wide variety of issues that are discussed.
