People who are sniping the signing of Jon Parkin really need to think,
Hes a big player with lots of strength and caused us problems time and time again when we have gone to deepdale,

Adam, I dont believe anyone is sniping merely voicing their opinion. I for one dont rate Parkin but would be more than happy to eat humble pie if he proves me wrong. For the record just because a player causes us problems when he plays against us it doesnt mean us signing them will bring us instant success......Langley springs to mind!

Preston fans say on his day he is unplayable, but he does not do it regular enough.

Wolves fans said exactly the same thing about Jay.

Completely different players but I have a feeling us fans will take to "the Beast" just like LFW. Parkin is a 100% effort, no nonsense type player, Something the fans take too and at present we don't have many players of that type.

Reasons why i'm optimistic:

1) He signed straight away, showing he wants to come here.
2) He's passionate and a 100%er, the fans will love him.
3) His performances against us over recent seasons, he was outstanding against us this season too using his physical presence and holding up the ball to take the pressure off the defense.
4) He has a hell of a good touch for a big man, people don't realise how good he is on the deck.
5) We finally have a proper old fashioned targetman who will get in the box to get on the end of crosses and power headers in, Bothroyd doesn't do this as he drops deep and drifts wide, so Parkin's definitely a different option.
6) For the reasons in 5, with Bothroyd (if he ever plays for us again) dropping deep and wide doing the good work outside the box, why not have both Bothroyd and Parkin up front so Parkin can capitalise on Bothroyd's good work?
7) Parkin's goalscoring record speaks for itself, he is a physical battering ram who will unsettle any defense in this division, he has already scored a hat-trick against Leeds this season too, same again Tuesday please Jon!

Let's just support Cardiff City players ffs. I for one think that Hudson and Marshall are sub standard BOTH 1 million pound players, and have varying opinions on most of the players which other fans may or may not agree with. This is based on seeing them play.

I think Robbie Savage could do a job for us as I think Parkin can. Let's just get to the Prem for one year, any how and we'll all be happy. Remember Bob Hatton, top drawer professional and did a job for us.
