Can Bothroyd run his contract down whoever comes in

Just a question if we accept a bid and Bothroyd says no and just wants to run his contract down is there nothing we can do to stop him going for a free!!!

Nothing you can do. In this situation the player holds all the trump cards. That's why clubs offer deals to players with 18 months minimum to go to avoid this scenario.

Plus Jay has a new agent who is very much pro active in trying to seek him a new club.

Stan, funny you should say that, as Good Chief Executives get them Signed up, But The Riddler and Jenkins, Dont get them signed up with at least 18 months to go and Nathan Blake Said yesterday to me, thats where were going wrong.

Annis who's responsibility is that at CCFC to deal with contracts? Why wasn't Jay signed back up a year ago?

jays signature should have been in the bag time ago! whoever deals with all this needs a good slapping!

Wow Ridsdale really was a shambles wasn't he. That has turned out to be a very expensive error. I think he will stay til May but if he was to go I think you'd struggle to get a penny over £1.5-2m as it stands.

Exactly We lost Joe Ledley to Celtic as they never renewed his contract either.

Well when he is taking 5% of Jays weekly wage & 10% of a signing on fee it is in his best interest to get every last penny. I'd do the same & I'm sure you would to.

Annis the fact the same thing happened with Joe Ledley & now Jay is criminal. That needs addressing. Who next Chops?

same with burke he's out of contract in may and matthews who is a youngster with loads of potential imo
