It makes me wonder do/does Langston know that the Malaysians might know something 'in the small print' that could mean they have no need to repay it?

same here. for someone to offer to cut millions off a debt is dodgy even more when langston apparently said to the malaysians name your settlement fee...

The figure quoted was I believe 7m.

If I was Tan, I'd wonder why the hell a company would willingly lose what 17m? It would make me go over the small print with a far finer toothcomb, because that smacks to me of a company not wanting to go to court...

Comes back tot he fact that the club have maybe £10m of saleable assets and £20m of secured debts - PMG, VT and Ranson.

Doesnt matter if Sam smashes them in court he wont get £20m.

Negotiations may take a different course if we go up.
