Plymouth are supposed to be in a whole heap of shit financially too. He will kill that club off completley and walk away with a big smile and his pockets full again. He should not be allowed back into football full stop
But thankfully thats not our problem anymore

Return helicopter trip from Plymouth to Yorkshire every weekend would be more expensive than Cardiff.

He's supposedly doing it out of the goodness of his heart, for Free!
http://www.footballeconomy.com/content/ ... rgyle-direThe financial situation at Plymouth Argyle has been described as 'dire'. Perhaps one measure of that is that
Peter Ridsdale has been brought in as an unpaid consultant, as the Pilgrims attempt to sort out their finances ahead of their court hearing on February 9th. Ridsdale's role at Leeds United was controversial, but he would claim that he helped to turn Cardiff City into a viable club challenging for the Premiership.
Argyle has debts of around £9m and the risk of liquidation is a very real one. A city the size of Plymouth with its well populated hinterland should be able to sustain at least a League 1 city, notwithstanding the fact that the city faces economic challenges and rugby is popular in Devon and Cornwall. However, attendances have been declining while the wage bill has spiralled as the club sought to return to the Championship. Sometimes the price of success can be too high.

It's all down to the next step his American Investor when he brings him in ( shortly) Ridsdale will then get an earner.
Hes already been in the board room telling sponsors and Directors many things and ousting Chairman etc, hes clearing the path.
No hes not getting paid at present thats true- but he will with whats to come.
They had a function the other day for the world cup draw , obviously hoping it would land england due to the ground position etc, anyway what made me laugh was the speech made by Peter Reid.
He said we should do this every year but a bit nearer to Christmas, I dont mind buying a couple of Turkeys
A sponsor got up and said " thats what our last manager said when he bought steve Maclean!"
made me laugh anyway!

i dont know what damage he can do really, they got nothing to take or leech off as you put it.
All depends if he can deliver investment and save them or they are fucked anyway. 2 court cases coming up with winding up orders, both holding company and the club itself its all over unless an investor is brought in.

Isn't he promisiong those American Investors. I can see them just borrowing against the club and living the high life until the bubble bursts, it's what Ridsdale always done.
His role as a consultant is a joke even if he is not taking a wage from it, the guy has no idea how to run businesses

A part of me thinks he realises how damaged his rep is after us and he needs a short spell of 'genuine good heartedness' to regain some rep. Otherwise I reckon he'll be unpaid and then suggest his work warrants some payment. It's a nothing to lose job for him... perfect for a man outcast by the football world.

Bloody hell is it really that bad down there, poor sods. Still we were left in that position not so long ago according to some reports.

Maybe he does have an " American Investor"? or an investor hoping to get a large lump of dough by midnight?
Just a thought.
