First impressions - this site seems very good unlike our main site which is full of daft kids.
Re. Leeds strengthening : Yes we will need to. We lose McCartney (as of today) and O'Brien (4th Jan!) loans and both have been good for us at the back. Also Kilkenny our midfielder is away for all of January with OZ - he's a bit like McPhail - keeps things ticking but no speed or strength. An important cog though.
We were hoping to extend both McCartney and O'Brien - we certainly need them but more on that later. Our midfield also needs some quality. We have to play 451 because most of our midfield are non-tacklers and are slow so we need the bodies in there or we get overrun. Up front we are great. McCormack has come into the team now and looks class - a little small for a forward but his touch, composure and energy look very encouraging.
Don't be fooled by our recent climb to 2nd place - I think we are a 5th-8th team at the moment but IF we got 3 class players in we could challenge you and QPR. Then again every team wants 3 class players and it wont happen.
Re. O'Brien - his loan is up after the day we play you. He's from Harrogate and I believe still lives there so if he stayed at Leeds he'd have zero upheaval. His contract with Bolton is up in the summer and he's getting on a bit now so his next contract will be massive for him. If you guys offer him a good deal for say 3.5 years I'm sure he sign like a shot. I dunno what wages you lot pay but Uncle Ken likes to keep a tight lid on the jar.
If you do get him then it is very good business - he's a very, very good Championship defender and would do OK in the Prem for maybe another season. He has steadied our terribe defence (you saw it 1st hand at Elland Rd!) but then again we have shipped 5 goals in the last 2 games and AOB scored two own goals. More a blip than anything else as we are unbeaten with AOB in the team.
Anyway I've not axe to grind with Cardiff - when Ridsdale was there I wanted you to fail because it would have been painful to see his smug fat face back in the Prem. You deserved better. A welsh team in the Prem would be great so if it aint us then good luck for the rest of the season. If you keep Bothroyd (a hell of a player!) then you'll be there or there abouts.
