Darcey Blake

This is someone i cant blame DJ for in my opinion. Before he went to Plymouth on loan he had the wrong diet wrong lifestyle and wrong attitude but went to Plymouth on loan and was transformed, they got him fit and he came back with the right attitude. Maybe it was the realization of being bombed out of his hometown club. He came back and showed the form that we know he is capable of but now this season he really has gone backwards, Back to the form of pre Plymouth. Now the talk is in the Valleys that Darcey loves the night out o the piss in the town where he lives. Again he has returned to the lifestyle, which in terms of a fantastic young player is a waste. Darcey in my opinion and i do except i am only going on hearsay is throwing away a fantastic career and opportunity that we could only dream about. What he needs to ask himself is what is most important to him playing football at the highest level or the love of going out on the piss every night.
If i am wrong over Darcey, and this in fact only gossip!! they i will apologize but i dont think it is.

I hear he can be found in blisters on a Saturday night. Don't know if a Saturday night piss up is acceptable after training all week and playing Saturday.

There is a saying "You work hard you play hard" And that is my motto but when you are a dedicated sportsman you cant do both. The man in the factory yes but not a highly paid Footballer that could go to the very top. And i honestly believe that Darcey could. Its a pity is there someone advising him ? or is it a case he refuses to listen.

I have never rated him at this level. soz :(

I felt something might be up off the pitch. Jones clearly rates Blake because he has given him a chance in the past but seems very influenced by Blake's off field habits. I've always been a Blake fan. Last season I felt he was hard done by not to play more but this season whenever he's played he's made a mistake. Right now, I wouldn't want him starting. At his best he's a Championship centre back/ centre midfielder (I still think he's best in the middle of the park) but right now he'd struggle to get into a League One side. He will only be as good as he wants to be.

i have run for wales nuclearblue 4 times and in 2009 came 88th in the london marathon at the age of 42. believe me drink and sport dont mix. if i got pissed up on a saturday night and stuffed my face on the way home, not only would i not be my correct race weight after the night out but it would effect my training up until the weds! i would still be able to run sunday to tuesday but not in the same way as if i`d stayed in and not drunk..... thing is with footballers, its only a short career, the pubs will still be there once their careers are over and if its true about darcy then he`d be a very stupid boy for throwing away every schoolboys dream career and all the money that goes with it!

Darcy is always played out of position, so he is not to blame.
About time Jones picked players in their correct positions.
Darcy does extra training after he leaves training with Cardiff, so cant doubt his attitude and fitness. :ayatollah:

Blake's throwing it all away, silly boy. I felt sorry for the players who tried to carry him yesterday
after all, was Naylor that bad, or was it all about not having proper support from the left side central
defender who was clearly suffering from a bad CHRISTMAS EVE hangover. Some proffessional. He needs to
be bombed out, he's had enough chances.

So having played centre back, right back and central midfield, what exactly is his position?

Too mistake prone as central defender, bullied off ball.
Has played best at right back, but offers little going forward, no way plays ahead of Super Kev or Matthews.
Central midfield? Having a laugh? The guy can't pass a ball...

Let's be blunt, if he wasn't "local", people would be slating him far, far worse than the abuse directed at say Weston.

He will admit he is not a centre back or midfielder. 8-) 8-)

Actually, before Naylor went off, it was the complete opposite. Naylor was so far out of his position, Darcy had two players coming at him while Naylor tried to molest the linesman or rugby tackle the long gone Watford player winger.

Admittedly I cannot explain the second half, other than Oli being player very far forward, leaving a big gap with the safety of a chocolate teapot in front of the defence.

Darcey is going to blow the chance of a life time, for most people. To go on the piss with his mates as a normal young lad his age would. Its his choice, may live to regret it.
